Casual on the Coast

Patrick and I spent Thanksgiving week in Florida to celebrate not only the holiday but also a family wedding!
With two big events in one trip, we sure packed a lot in. From stuffing our faces with turkey and (the best) mashed potatoes, to playing multiple games of UNO with little cousins, to watching two wonderful people say “I do,” we definitely maxed out our four-day holiday.
And I haven’t even mentioned yet that that also included a day spent at Universal Studios … as well as a night out on the town in New Orleans!
As you could probably imagine, I am absolutely exhausted. But I’ll take this exhaustion again and again for more trips like these! 🙂
Now, it wasn’t all busy busy busy. There definitely was a bit of relaxing thrown in a time or two.
One of my favorite parts of our vacation was waking up early in the mornings, pouring cups of coffee, and creeping out to the beach with Patrick.
And luckily for this little blog, we managed to bring our camera down on one particular morning.

This oh-so comfy and cozy boyfriend sweater I’m wearing – I had actually bought it during our trip just the day before from GAP’s big black Friday sale. It’s ridiculously comfortable, fits great, and I snagged it at half off for only $25! I’m thinking that this casual top and my MiH high-waisted jeans may just be my go-to outfit this winter.

I usually don’t venture out on Black Friday, for fear of the massive fights over Barbie dolls and what not. But this year I went with my mother & sister-in-laws and not only had a great time, but also managed to find a few good deals!

The rest of those good deals just happen to be Christmas presents, so I won’t be mentioning those just yet. 😉

The weather was actually a tad on the cooler side during our stay, hence the new sweater. This newly Texan figured there was no possible way that Florida could be any colder than Houston.

I guess I didn’t take into account the sea breeze, because it sure was chilly during our morning walks!

Chilly weather or not, I was determined to dip my toes into the ocean, if only for just a moment or two.

I’ll definitely be sharing more bits and bobs from our Thanksgiving vacation later this week!

Whether you travelled near or far, I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends on this special holiday. 🙂

Now that we’re back to Houston, I’m itching to pull out our Christmas decorations and get to work on sprucing up this house. Only 23 more days until Christmas!

Have you already decorated your home for the holidays this year?

As always, thanks for stopping by and reading!
