Happy New Year! I’m marking the big day with an outfit post and a little bit of reflection and resolution on the past year and the new one ahead.

But before I get too much into that, I must share with you how much I am loving my number one Christmas present – these black Seychelles over the knee boots! After seeing so many cute bloggers on Pinterest rocking these, I knew I would have to take the plunge and get a pair for myself before too long.  Not only are these tall and sexy boots so cute in person, but they are also ridiculously comfortable and super warm to boot!  I’ve had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to style them, and I’ve decided they look amazing with mini dresses and paired with blue jeans. Problem is, I don’t have too too many mini dresses, so that’s where the belt comes in! It instantly shortened my longer striped dress and showed just the right amount of skin between the boot and the hem.

I also must mention, that I’m kind of obsessed with how these boots look paired with my black fringe purse from Cavender’s. For a small cross body bag, this purse actually holds a lot. And I love that it gives my perfectly normal/modern outfit just a touch of Western flare. We are in Texas after all!

But anywho, today is New Years Day! And 2014 just came and went don’t you think? Patrick and I have had so many “big” years lately, with us getting engaged, married, then moving to Texas, that 2014 was our first “low key” year in a very long time. And you know what, I absolutely loved it! Without any super big events marking the year, I look back and think, well what was it that made 2014 special?

For starters, I spent a big chunk of 2014 getting this blog off on the right food. Dabbling in all different kinds of things, I didn’t really know what direction I was headed with this little ol’ blog of mine, (and I honestly still don’t!) but it has certainly been a fun adventure that I’m excited to continue into 2015.

I also spent a majority of the year traveling across the country for friends’ weddings and big events. It certainly was the year to celebrate the love between many of our good friends! I only hope we’ll have the same opportunities in 2015 to see all of our far away friends like we were fortunate to this past year.

My goals for 2015 are to seize as many new opportunities as possible, TRAVEL as much as possible, try to work out as much as possible (barre I’m coming for you!), and to sit back & relax and also just enjoy doing nothing at all. What are your resolutions for 2015? I can’t wait to see what all is in store!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog. And once again, Happy New Year!
