Poolside Must Haves

Poolside Style, Poolside Must Haves, Beach Style
It may still only be March in Texas, but with the extreme weather down here I make sure to
post up at the pool whenever the temperature starts climbing above 70 degrees.  Which fortunately it often does this time of year.
There is nothing quite like spending a day poolside with a stack full of magazines and good music coming through on your headphones! I’m loving these white ones from V-MODA right now. They cancel out any other surrounding noise and can roll up really small which makes them great for travel, the office, and of course the pool.
During the summers it gets hot in Houston, and I’m talking REALLY hot, like surface of the sun hot.  Last summer we spent a whole lot of time at the pool and I’m thinking that this year will be no different. When we do it, it’s usually an all day long event with friends, finished by some sort of dinner out or bar crawl.  We’re trying to live up our weekends over here! So that being said, for me packing for the pool is like packing a bag for the rest of the day.  I try to choose a cover up that could also work as a dress and a swim suit that I wouldn’t mind peeking out of the cover up.  And of course, oversize sunglasses and a floppy hat (this one is 25% off today with the code ETFAMILY) always make for the perfect poolside accessories!
This weekend the weather is supposed to be amazing in Houston! I’ve been super busy for the past several weeks so I’m beyond excited to spend a relaxing weekend poolside. Now I just need a good book to get sucked into, recommendations would be amazing!
I hope wherever you are this weekend that you’re treated to good weather too! And if it’s not quite pool season yet, don’t worry it’s just around the corner. 🙂

  • Great pics!! That floral swimsuit is so cute!

  • So cute! Our days at the pool look a little different with a 3 year old and 6 year old. 🙂
(And here comes the mom advice: don't forget sunscreen! You'll be glad in ten years!)

    • Thanks Melissa! I definitely tend to go overboard on sunscreen these days! I was a lifeguard as a teen and never wore it, no idea what I was thinking! Now I'm just trying to make up for that. 🙂

  • Stopping by from TWB. I love your style! Here in Dallas it has been an amazing weather week. My boyfriend is actually grilling outside as a type.

  • This is great, and so helpful! You must be organized when getting back to pool-season after winter.

    I LOVE that swimsuit. xo

  • The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd is a southern Downton Abby story. You'd love it Alice!

    • I'll definitely have to check that out! I LOVE Downton Abbey so I'm thrilled by this recommendation, thanks so much! 🙂
