Spring has finally sprung! And so have all the pretty flowers in my neighborhood. Somehow a whole bunch of lilies decided to bloom in our front yard this year. No idea how or why (this definitely did not happen last year) but I am forever grateful! I picked a handful, filled several vases, and now our house smells of fresh flowers. You know how we always see bloggers with bouquets of fresh flowers on instagram? The idea was always nice, but I never really got around to buying said fresh flowers that often.  Thanks to these lilies, my life has now changed, and I am officially jumping on the fresh flower bandwagon.
Anywho, this post really wasn’t supposed to be about flowers, I just got a bit distracted.  🙂 Today I’m talking about how to wear black for spring. It’s simple: pair it with white. Black and white works all year round, but I especially like wearing this color-combo each spring. This classic Flora + Mia black midi skirt is a statement piece in itself (plus it has pockets!) so I wanted to pair it with simple accessories and a solid white top.  This would be the perfect outfit for a mother’s day dinner, fundraising event, or an evening at the theater.
Speaking of which, Patrick and I are seeing Newsies and the Music Man this May. I could not be more excited! Musicals are my guilty pleasure and having two of my favorites in Houston back to back is unreal!
What are your favorite ways to dress up the darker colored pieces in your wardrobe for spring?
