Boot Scootin’ the Monday Blues

http://www.lonestarlookingglass.com/2015/04/boot-scootin-monday-blues.html

After just getting back from a very long weekend vacation, I am absolutely filled with the Monday blues this morning. But I’m going to embrace this more difficult than usual Monday by putting on my blue cowgirl boots. Because how can you be “blue” when wearing a pair of blue boots?!
Exactly.
Living in Texas (and Tennessee) cowboy boots have become a staple in my wardrobe. They go with everything and are oh-so comfortable, what’s not to like?  Lately I’ve been shying away from my typical brown pair by trying new colors and styles to add a little something extra to my outfits. That is why I am absolutely loving these Kilauea Blue Boots from Cavender’s! Normally when you think of delicately designed leather boots, it’s easy to assume they’re going to have a high price tag. This pair comes from a collaboration between Old Gringo and Cavender’s to bring boot lovers fun and unique boots with at a much lower price point. This kinda makes it easier to have a closet full of colorful boots, huh?
To beat the Monday blues I paired my Kilauea Blue Boots with a casual and comfortable white dress and layered it with a fun scarf and denim jacket.  The spring weather in Houston has been unpredictable lately and it seems like wherever you go indoors, people are compensating with super high AC.  So even with the afternoon high of 90 degrees, I’ll have a jacket in tow!
Unfortunately most of the pieces I’m wearing (except for the boots!) are sold out. But I’ve linked several similar items below if you wanted to shop my look.

On another note, I have hundreds (and hundreds) of photos to share in the next few weeks from our trip to Big Bend and Marfa! I can’t even begin to tell ya’ll how amazing our long weekend away was. Stop by The Lone Star Looking Glass later this week for travel pics galore! 🙂
In the meantime, wishing you all the happiest of Mondays!
