Bloggers Do B&B Butchers

Last week I had the pleasure of getting together with some local Houston blogger ladies to try out Houston’s brand new butcher shop & steakhouse: B&B Butchers. One of my biggest loves in this life is good food, (really whose isn’t?) and B&B Butchers blew us all away with their tasty creations and perfectly grilled steaks. (Pics to prove it below!)
I sense a date night coming up at this Houston hot spot very soon!

The restaurant has seating options both upstairs & down.  We bloggers filled two very long tables in the upstairs portion of the restaurant.  There’s also an adorable patio upstairs with intimate tables & French cafe chairs. Plus a killer view of the downtown skyline that’s not to be missed!
We sat down to a special event menu at each place setting. The menu outlined the tasty appetizers we were trying, dinner choices, the family style sides & delicious desserts.
As soon as I saw family mac n’ cheese on that menu, I knew without a doubt things were about to get reallllly good.
With all of the blogger events in Houston, it has become so much fun getting to see these lovely ladies on a weekly basis. It’s almost like we have our own little club, but anyone’s invited!
I loved meeting & chatting with Anna from Live More Beautifully!
Only at blogger events is it a totally normal occurrence to pull out those phones mid-conversations. 😉
With all of the style bloggers & fashionistas in attendance, we really appreciated the small “purse racks” situated conveniently at the end of each table.  Such a fun little touch!
Also, how adorable is this Kate Spade snail purse? I tried to link it for ya’ll, but upon finding it was sold out I discovered Kate Spade also makes a wicker crab purse, a seashell purse, and a fish shaped purse. She can really do no wrong.
And neither can B&B Butchers. Especially with their delicious appetizers: such as fried oysters, jumbo lump crab cakes, thick cut bacon bites topped with blue cheese and butcher blocks filled with slices of gourmet meats & cheeses.
I was in “hog” heaven, for sure.
But of course I acted like a lady, and not a pig. 😉 On the inside though, I was itching to dive right in to it all!
Our select dinner choices consisted of lamb, chicken, salmon or steak four ways: au poivre, oscar, truffle butter or maytag crusted.
I chose the truffle butter (bring on the carbs!) and it’s safe to say it was one of the most popular dishes of the evening.

I’m thinking this one is the steak au poivre. In case you don’t speak French, it translates to steak with peppercorn sauce. It looked delicious & I’m thinking I’m going to definitely have to try this one next go round.

We passed around the family style appetizers and chatted the evening away while catching up with old friends and getting to know new ones as well.
By the time the dessert disappeared, nobody was ready to leave, but our full bellies certainly said otherwise.
Thank you to the lovely Megan (Greetings from TX) and Candace (Luxe with Kids) for organizing & hosting! You two are such sweet and amazing women! Check out their blogs, ya’ll!

We couldn’t run away so quickly without snapping a photo before we left! Had so much fun with these blogger babes the other night! And if it’s possible … I still feel full a week later from that delicious dinner.  Or it could be from the Chic Fil A chicken biscuit I just ate. Either way….
Also, I’ve got to shout out from the rooftop that the Rifle Paper Co dresses are STILL available at Anthropologie! They’ve been recently restocked, so if you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger, now is the time! Mine has been on heavy rotation since I bought it, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Sorry if I’ve left you a tad hungry with all of the delicious foodie eye candy in this post.  I don’t know about you, but I’m hankering for a visit back to B&B Butchers and it’s only been one week! If a fancy steak dinner isn’t on your agenda, the lunch menu is much lighter with soups, salads & sandwiches.

Lunch date anyone?
