Floppy Hats & Polka Dots

The off-the-shoulder trend is everywhere this season. So naturally I had to take part in it. 🙂 I am especially loving this flirty polka dot number from Anthropologie. The best part about is that it has fluttered cap sleeves that can both be worn off the shoulder, or on the shoulder for an “office-friendly” look.  And another one of my favorite things about this top? It can easily transition into fall.

First of all, I can not believe we are talking about “transitioning into fall” when it is almost 110 degrees here in Houston, Texas! Fall for us is obviously a ways away.  But for some reason, as the calendar flips its page to September, people tend to start dressing in darker colors, more muted tones & plaid starts popping up everywhere. (Even if it does still happen to be over one-hundred degrees in your city.)
To dress this off-white polka dotted top up for fall, I paired it with my go-to blue jeans (on mah-jor sale & an extra 20% off w/ the code SUNNYSKIES.) My black laser cut wedges also go perfectly with this black floppy hat, from cute online boutique Jolie Boheme. Adding the black felt hat instantly gives this look a ready-for-fall-vibe. I’ve also been tucking this off-the-shoulder top into high waisted jeans and midi skirts and it looks oh-so stinkin’ cute! It’s always fun when you find a simple top that can be styled a number of different ways.

Have you found yourself starting to think about fall fashion, or shopping for fall transitional looks too? It’s crazy of us Texans to be buying sweaters and flannels at a time like this, but that’s certainly what seems to be popping up in stores at the moment! For now, I’m looking to find the most lightweight pieces that’ll keep me cool while also working for the season ahead. It’s a fun struggle for this warm-climate girl, but I’ll take the challenge!
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
