July’s Mini Moments

July may have just been my favorite month of the year so far. Smack dab in the middle of summer, July was filled with cookouts, fireworks, bike rides, & weekend getaways.  The epitome of summertime if you ask me!
Today I’m rounding up a few of my favorite “mini-moments” to share with you all. This is what I’ve been up to outside of the blog (and mostly on Instagram) throughout the month of July.
Our sweet friends & neighbors hosted a 4th of July cookout, so we dressed to the nines to celebrate the holiday! Sipping on strawberry sangria & out of patriotic cups was a must. 🙂
I also hosted a styling party with Anthropologie earlier this month. I had the MOST fun imaginable and the evening was beyond lovely! You can find more about the fun night: here.

On a road trip with my mom, we stopped for my first ever Whataburger.  There seems to be one at every other exit along the interstate here in Texas, so this was long overdue!

My mom and I spent a girl’s weekend away in Fredericksburg, TX where we stayed at the most adorable Victorian home imaginable.  Also, there was a moment or two there that we were convinced it was haunted … but I think that was just our overactive imaginations paired with a few glasses of wine. 😉

One of the only shots we managed to get during our trip, as I tragically lost my camera! (It was a good lesson though, at least I can take that away?) Anywho, this gorgeous off-the-shoulder top from Jess Lea Boutique has been one of my favorite things to wear all summer! It was perfect for our day at the vineyards.

An iPhone snap of the beautiful flowering trees that lined the main street in the heart of Fredericksburg.
For some reason I stopped in Boomtown Coffee in the Houston Heights way much more than usual.  I’m the kinda girl who prefers to make coffee at home and take it with me every where, (GASP) so these little Boomtown visits were a real treat! // Also I have to shout out about this adorable Julie Vos bangle! I wear it pretty much everyday, as it’s delicate, fun (hi lion!) and goes with everything.

Working with Anthropologie on my summer event was definitely the highlight of the month. I had ablast styling this fab-u-lous summer look, too! So I was thrilled when they shared it on their insta! (Major fan-girl moment for sure!) For outfit details, check out the post: here.
With the extremely hot weather, Patrick and I surprisingly found plenty of time for long bike rides throughout the neighborhood. We like to head out after 7pm when the temperature graces us with 90 degrees as opposed to 100. I think I’ve fully adjusted to summertime in Texas. 🙂

One of my favorite things to do is try new restaurants, (especially for brunch!)  I met up with some of my blogger gal pals & we tried Dish Society in the Galleria/area. It did not disappoint!

Another fun moment in July was trying out the Kendra Scott Color Bar. I looooove me some Kendra Scott! I had fun chatting with other bloggers at the evening’s event and making my own version of this necklace. Maybe I have a hidden talent to be a jewelry designer?? Hmmm. 🙂 But it was certainly fun to pretend for a moment!

RewardStyle came to Houston in July! I was so excited to attend rSmasterclass. Along with a few other HTX bloggers, we picked up tons of tips, strategies, and info on how to blog better & smarter.

Towards the end of the month, a friend of mine hosted a Girl’s Night Craft Party at her house. We DIY-ed our own doormats and surprisingly the project turned out to be such a success! I’m the type of person who begins a craft and then all of a sudden it turns out horribly and never gets finished. (RIP Tri Delta t-shirt quilt!) This doormat DIY was super-easy and the paint we used actually held up well too! #Win.
On the last Friday of each month, Houstonians band together for a MASSIVE bike ride across the city.  It’s called Critical Mass and it actually happens in almost every other major city in the country.  We packed a few Lone Star beers in our bike baskets and then explored close to 20 miles of Houston streets with thousands of other bikers. Don’t worry, there were plenty of gatorades and waters in that bike basket too! And we had helmets on, of course. Safety first. 😉
Thanks for letting me share the smaller moments that don’t always make it over to the blog with you all today. Hope you all too had a fabulous July too! And can you believe we’re halfway through August!? It’s starting to freak me out how fast the time goes by! I may not ready for summer to be over, but I am oh-so ready to see that thermostat start dipping below 100 degrees really soon!
Wishing you all lots of coffee on this Monday morning, and as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
