Stylish in Closet Staples

Happy Friday friends!
Today I’m styling an easy-peasy casual (but also
day-to-night) look with staples that I’m sure each & every one of you has
in your closet.

For this simple look, I paired a striped tee & a
statement jacket with simple skinny jeans & solid black heels.
These versatile pieces are fun to mix and match and are
perfect for almost any occasion.

We all have a pair skinny jeans in our closet, right?
(Let’s hope that the super skinny jean is a trend that isn’t
going out of style anytime soon.  I’ll
gladly welcome the flare & the boyfriend, but the skinny is my go-to!)
Skinny jeans are my favorite jeans for a number of
reasons.  They are super slimming for
one, and two: I love the way that they look dressed up with a pair of heels!
This pair from True Religion is a recent addition to my
closet. And I have to say, I am in love with the way they fit around the ankle!
I have inherited super tiny ankles which
can sometimes make shopping for jeans kinda difficult. (Unrelated – but they
are also indestructible too, you won’t believe how many times I’ve rolled them
in a pair of heels with no pain following whatsoever.  Thanks mom!)

Anyway, I won’t complain, BUT most of the time
I have to cuff my jeans, because even when I get the hems altered, they don’t
always fit right. This pair though, I was shocked when I first tried them on
and the hems seemed to fall right where they were supposed to.

When jeans are tighter around the ankle, they do a really
good job of showing off your shoes too! 😉
Which is always fun … especially when your shoes are these oh-so stylish chunkyblack heels!

Patrick and I have plans to go out to dinner tonight, just the two of us, & for no
reason at all. We just want to get out and do something a little different. We’ve been together for almost 8  years and married for 2 and a half, and date night still gets me really excited! 🙂  I’m sure I’ll wear something super
similar to this outfit.  Not too dressy,
but not too casual either. I’ll take any excuse to slip on a pair of heels!
The rest of the weekend is already looking pretty busy – we’re
going to a Friendsgiving party on Saturday & the Renaissance Fest on
Sunday! I’m especially looking forward to rocking a flower crown & chowing
down on a turkey leg at Renn Fest.  Gotta
get into the renaissance spirit right?
I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun photos to share afterwards. J Wishing you all a
fun-filled weekend!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
