A Mini in the Middle of Winter

The high today in Houston is in the mid-70s, & I cannot
complain!
While I my heart goes out to the Northeast and all of
their snow … I would gladly take a snow day (or two!) off of their hands to continue my Netflix
binge watching of The Flash. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets
suckered into all of the shows on THE CW … superhero themed or not.)
In the meantime, I’ll be off the couch & and doing everything I can to take advantage of these
spring/summer like temperatures.

For starters, by rocking a crop top & mini skirt in January.

Even if you’re living in a cooler climate, you too can still
rock a crop top and mini in the dead of winter.

One simple solution: Over The Knee Boots.
It’s a foolproof solution to keeping warm in a
mini-skirt.  Plus that tiny little bit of
leg you’ve got showing makes your outfit “sexy” enough for a night out.  This is something I’d wear to a show at
Fitzgerald’s or on a Heights pub crawl.
It’s cute, “going-out appropriate” and verrrry comfortable.
This black pair of OTK boots was my Christmas present last
year. They were well worth the investment as I’ve found countless ways to style
them.  Plus they are a great (& much
less painful) alternative to heels!

A few of my current favs linked for ya:

This white and black crop top is from the cutest online boutique Hallie Jane – which was started by two Texas sisters. As you may be aware (if you’re an avid follower of course) I love love a good crop top.  The best part about this one is the fact that it’s super thick, and warm, which makes it all the more perfect for winter.
I added a black purse, some hand-made silver jewels, and
these oversized sunnies to tie it all together.
These Karen Walker sunnies are from DITTOwhich is a
subscription “rental” sunglasses service.
It’s definitely a fun way to try new trends without investing a lot of
$$$ into them. Use the code lonestarlookingglass when signing up to get your
first month fo free.

Shop the Look:
free people denim midi // OTK boots // hallie jean tara crop top c/o // karen walker sunnies c/o ditto (use the code lonestarlookingglass for your first month free!) // niira bracelet & necklace c/o // mark & graham bucket bag
So we’re almost finished with the first month of 2016. Whose new year’s resolutions are still sticking?
I unfortunately ate a bag of flaming hot Cheetos the other day … so that
whole eat healthy-er thing isn’t working quite as well as I wanted it to.
I did sign up for a month of Pure Barre and I even tried a
spin class! Big improvements in that department.  For those following along on snapchat
(@aliceksnaps) and Instagram, you may have seen that I stopped by the Soul
Cycle X Target pop up shop here in Houston this past weekend.  It was seriously the most FUN workout I’ve
ever experienced.  The loud music and
group mentality was unbeatable.  Without
a doubt I’ll be signing up for a class when the new Soul Cycle studio opens up in
Houston in April!
Hope y’alls Monday is off
to a great start! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
