Trumpet Sleeves

Trumpet sleeves are having a major moment in the fashion
world right now.
A bit bigger than the popular bell sleeves, the voluminous
trumpet sleeve is a statement making addition to any top or dress.

I’m all about trying new trends, statement making or not, and for some reason I am just loooooving the trumpet sleeve trend.
Maybe it’s because it reminds me of the popular fashions worn in my favorite historical fiction TV series & movies.  The 1850s were a very popular time period for the bell and trumpet sleeve.
I mean … I have seen Gone with the Wind and Little Women two hundred thousand times, so maybe that’s where the deep rooted love for this trend is coming from?
Not that this dress in any way resembles the dresses of Amy March or Scarlett O’Hara – but I can always pretend it’s channeling them a little bit.

This trumpet sleeve sweater dress from Pixie Market is a
mixture of all things that I love: crazy girly sleeves, a cozy SWEATSHIRT, and neutral
colors.

I’m also eyeing these similar pretties below:

Accessorizing such a unique & different dress was a bit
tricky though. I originally thought black over the knee boots would be perfect,
but the length was a bit too long on me to make that work.
My go-to booties of late (the Zip it Emy from Swedish Hasbeens) work perfectly with this dress (as
do black cowboy boots!) especially when paired with a matching black wooden
necklace.

Are you just as intrigued by the trumpet sleeve trend as I
am?  I seriously want to buy every crazy
sleeve styled dress I see on the internet & especially from Pixie Market. (Thankfully
my husband stops me!)
In other news, it’s Friday FINALLY.  Apart from stopping at the Soul Cycle pop up
tomorrow morning, I plan to sleep, eat, sit on the couch, sleep & eat.  It’s going to be glorious!! Hope you all have
fun & exciting weekend plans ahead – and for those of you on the east coast – enjoy that winter snow & stay safe!
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog! Don’t forget to
