How to Wear a Mini Dress

I’m kicking off the Monday morning blues in the prettiest of blue boho dresses and fun accessories today!
Today I’m talking all about mini dresses: how to style them and most importantly – how to accessorize them with Alex + Ani and Market Street – The Woodlands!

The dictionary describes mini dresses as, obviously, a very short dress. Most of the time I’d pair a very short dress with some sort of tall boot or gladiator sandals.  I don’t often do the whole “showing a lot of skin thing.” But because this particular dress has a high neckline and long flowy sleeves, I felt that boots would have been just a bit too much.
Strappy sandals with a matching rancher hat to the rescue!

When it comes to jewelry, it’s important to play off of the style of the dress you’re wearing.

You wouldn’t wear a statement necklace with a high neck printed dress, right? Or long dangly earrings with a hat and a high neck either?

Nope!

I can’t leave the house without some sort of piece of jewelry (it’s one of my silly rules) so I loved just how this gold stack from Alex + Ani provided just the right touch to this flowy boho long sleeve dress.

Alex + Ani offers hundreds of different charms, chains and bracelet designs to choose from to create your own personalize stack.
I stacked my stack with the things that I felt represented me the most: a cowboy boot, a bicycle, a leather wrap, a feather (which I originally thought was a leaf, and I love the outdoors, so I’m still going to pretend it is a leaf!) and a Houston Astro’s charm. Patrick sure loved the Houston Astro’s addition!
I’m so excited to be teaming up with Market Street – The Woodlands as a brand ambassador this Spring! It really is the cutest (and one of my favorite) outdoor shopping destinations in all of Houston. It’s a bit of a ways north if you live in the city, but the drive is totally worth it for all of the adorable shops and restaurants awaiting you! Especially the ones (Alex + Ani) that we don’t have down here in our own neck of the woods!
Back to rocking a mini dress – The length factor mostly depends on your personal style and how confident you feel wearing it. Of course, the occasion you’re wearing it for counts too.
Date night or concert in the park: A do.
Just be sure to balance out your look with pieces that make you feel the most comfortable inside and out.

I’m still coming off of the high that was our recent California adventure. So so so (SO) many photos to go through and narrow down into posts to share.
I was thinking about everyone affected by the flooding here in Houston while I was away. We could still see remnants of where the water reached on our drive in. So thankful our home and pups were safe while we were away.
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
