Sunday’s Six

I thought it would be fun to start a “Sunday Series” on Lone Star Looking Glass, sharing around six (or so) seemingly random things that really have no other place on this little blog of mine. This series will probably run every other Sunday and share small bits and pieces of my life in general. 🙂

I’ll be sharing things such as what I’ve been up to that week outside of the blog, updates to the house, various things I’m currently crushing, a favorite book I’m reading, and anything and everything in between!

Starting today with six randomosities below.

ONE:
My best friend Nora got married this weekend in Kansas City! It was a reunion with all of my favorite people! We celebrated in pretty pink dresses and danced so hard that some of us (mostly me) are still sore the next morning.

TWO:

I recently scored the antique vanity above at a thrift shop for only $150. I whipped up some homemade chalk paint and turned this baby light gray to match our dresser.  A mid-century fringe stool, bracelets stacked on wine bottles & a monogrammed trinket tray make up my vanity must haves.
a few of my jewelry faves:

THREE:

The space above my vanity was screaming for art to fill it. My vanity sits pretty low, so I was thrilled to find these two perfect pieces from Minted Art to fill the empty space above. They are both only 8x10s and I love how they look next to each other! The one on the left, the silhouette morphing into a forest (actually called One with Nature,) is probably one of my favorite pieces of art that we own!

FOUR:
My latest legging obsession is in the form of these printed pretties from Peony and Me. There’s a matching sports bra too! Marigold obviously thinks they are just as adorable as I do!

FIVE:
Nora’s rehearsal dinner gave me the best excuse ever to pull out this navy and red floral dress! I might have kinda sorta failed miserably with my bridesmaid speech (#nerves) but at least, I felt cute as can be in this Chicwish floral dress of mine
PS: It’s less than $60! In person, it looks and feels four times that price!

SIX:

Speaking of a good deal, we found this door mat in Memphis last weekend for only $12.99!! It’s from Target, but usually, the Houston Target sells out of everything that’s cute & inexpensive before I have a chance to even see it in the store. I was determined to fit this bright doormat in my suitcase! So glad it fit because it looks fab on our back porch!
SEVEN:
Well, I guess we are doing 7 today! Already one post in, and I’m changing things up! Mostly because I can not help but share that I will be hosting an event at Trina Turk in The Galleria this Wednesday! If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you! Trina Turk’s summer pieces have been trickling into the store this past week. I can’t wait to see the whole collection on Wednesday!
I’m hoping to stick to an every other Sunday publishing of this series. I think it will be so much fun to write, as well as give me an opportunity to share with you all the smaller things that might not fill up an entire blog post. If there is anything, in particular, you would like to see more of in these posts, please let me know!
Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend!
