Happy Cinco de Mayo!

What better way to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over France at The Battle of Pueblo than with an embroidered dress, margaritas, and guacamole?

Seriously, though, society and its decisions on what and how to celebrate can be a bit strange at times.

But I’ll take any excuse to do all of the above, May 5th or not!

Tonight I’m headed to a Cinco de Mayo fete thrown by local fashion designer (and Project Runway 2 winner) Chloe Dao! The fiesta promises colorful pinatas, a DJ and of course – margs. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to it!

And this dress will most certainly be worn to it, too!

Speaking of this adorable ModCloth dress, I am absolutely loving the embroidered details and the halter neckline.  The long swoopy white chiffon skirt is reminiscent of a casual wedding dress, which is fun because you can kinda get away with wearing a white dress like this without it being your wedding day! (Always a plus!)

I recently had the opportunity to meet some of the ModCloth team at the rewardStyle conference. Those ladies were as sweet as can be! And how fun for them that they get to live in San Francisco!?

I paired my white party dress with this Kate Spade straw clutch from The Bagtique.

Like most holidays, a day like Cinco de Mayo is one of those days where you can get away with pulling out all of the stops with your outfit. Sure, go ahead and pair that loud embroidered dress with a bold summery clutch! Add some tassels too!

My “Radiate with Destiny” Dress (who comes up with these names?) sadly recently sold out. TEAR! But I’ve linked a few similar styles below from all across the web that have the same sort of theme going on. Perfect for your next fiesta, eh?

I hope you all are enjoying an extra scoop of guacamole tonight to celebrate! Patrick and I started our fiesta early last night by making some enchiladas! The recipe we were following was more of an enchilada/lasagna crossover. So many layers and layers of chicken, onions, tortillas and cheesey goodness!

PS: Who else watches the TV show Nashville? I can not handle the current drama with Maddy and Deacon! It’s almost too much! Thoughts?!

And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
