Red, White & Blue Maxi – Memorial Day Style

Memorial Day Weekend is only two weeks away! Do you have your red, white & blue look planned yet!?

It’s not like it’s 4th of July or anything (a day where you MUST don your patriotic pride) but it’s always fun to sport Old Glory’s colors while munching on BBQ & corn on the cob, am I right?

Today I’m talking about this red, white & blue maxi, our plans for Memorial Day & my latest obsession with crown braids.

This pretty red, white and blue maxi was a steal for only $29 from SheIn! I know a lot of people are pretty wary of shopping there, but if you read the reviews before you purchase, you can grab some really great pieces at amazing prices!

I loved this dress especially because it looked similar to a high-neck anthro dress I missed out on a few years ago.

Cinched at the waist with a black belt, and paired with black strappy wedges & a matching bucket bag makes for a perfectly accessorized look. If I do say so myself.

If I’m being honest, this Memorial Day Weekend we have plans to go camping. Like we usually do for most holiday weekends. We’ll see if this actually happens, weather permitting!

If I were NOT going camping, then you can better believe I’d be wearing this maxi number to a neighborhood cookout for sure.

Bringing my favorite recipe for a Chutney Cheese Ball appetizer no less. Seriously y’all, you’ve gotta try this! It’s my go-to for potlucks!

While I’m on the subject of my go-tos … I’ve recently become obsessed with crown braids! Maybe it’s because it’s the EASIEST hairstyle and makes such a big statement?

It’s as simple as braiding two pigtails and pinning them on top of your head. Of course have some extra bobby pins on standby for all of the chunky bits that will surely stick out.

Once it’s all pinned to perfection, spritz on some hair spray and you’re good to go!

Hope you all have big plans for Memorial Day Weekend! I know it’s still a ways away, but I can’t help but countdown to an extra long weekend away from the office! (Who wouldn’t!?)

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
