Off-the-Shoulder Embroidery & a Giveaway

I might not be sipping on a French cafe au lait today, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be sipping on one yourself this winter! Today I’m teaming up with a group of bloggers to bring you guys probably the freaking COOLEST giveaway around!

A weeklong culinary vacation in France for an all inclusive stay at a French Cooking School in the countryside called La Calabash. I know right? Like, can I enter too? I feel like that would be cheating … so you guys are just going to have to enter and win for me! Because this giveaway is pretty darn epic.

More details at the bottom of the post!

So in today’s post, I’m channeling my inner French-girl by sitting at a cafe, sipping on a latte, and munching on a French (chocolate) croissant.

It’s probably as close as I can get to feeling like I’m in France, when in the Houston Heights, with good people watching from my cafe table too!

Boomtown is definitely one of my favorite spots to grab a cup of joe in all of Houston!

Anyway, more about France. (You know, get you all pumped up about your future vacaaaaation!)

This dress really has nothing to do with France. But #funfact, in college I had a French exchange student! She lived with my family for a summer, then I with hers. For the next three summers, we made sure to meet up somewhere in the world.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other, and I miss her terribly!!! But I’ll never forget her love for embroidered sundresses! No joke. I took her shopping on her first visit to the US and I swear she walked out of the mall with at least three different versions of embroidered sundresses.

I also had (and still have) the same addiction.

Proof:

Clotilde and I at Versaille in 2008! #Babies!

This embroidered off-the-shoulder number is from none other than Tory Burch! I used to wear my black & gold TB revas on the daily back in college. IBut lately, I’ve typically tended to shy away from big bold logos on clothing or shoes. But on a recent visit to Tory Burch at The Galleria, I discovered that I’m obsessed with everything about Tory Burch’s spring/summer clothing collection. The embroidery, the fringe, the tassels. So yummy!

I paired this blue & white (my fav colors) number with a matching crossbody bag & clog sandals.

My Daniel Wellington Dapper Watch might as well by soldered to my wrist, because I never seem to want to take it  off anyway these days! The big bold face, tooled leather band & rose gold details make for a classic timepiece that goes with about everything in my closet.

Lone Star Looking Glass readers can use the code SPRINGLLG for 15% off a purchase at danielwellington.com until June 1st!  (woot woot!)

So you fancy a week’s stay at le Calabash? This 7-day culinary experience includes accommodation in a chaeatu, which we all know is French for castle. (Sign me up, even tho I can’t!) It also includes your daily meals (with wine!), a plethora of French cooking classes and activities, and basically a once in a lifetime European experience.
