Black Fringe Jacket

Here’s the thing about living in Houston, Texas. It’s 95+ degrees outside sometimes, but as soon as you go indoors, it’s like you’ve entered an arctic tundra. Houstonians sure love to blast their AC. (Don’t even get me started on how freezing the grocery stores are here!)

This is why I always have some sort of jacket or sweater tucked away in my car in case of emergencies. Today I’m talking all about this lovely black fringe one of mine and my favorite way to style it for a casual night out.

Plus I’m sharing two little life announcements at the bottom of the post!

I dressed up this fringe pretty with a graphic tee, distressed skinnies, a simple clutch and cozier than words wedges.

Lately, when Patrick and I’ve been going out on dinner dates, I’ve opted for more casual and comfy outfits. With all of the crazy rain we’ve been having (combined with the intense humidity), it’s been so nice feeling comfortable and actually warm inside all of those chilly restaurants.

We go out to eat wayyyyy too much, you guys. (oops!)

While this black fringe number from Bernardo may look like the real deal leather jacket, it’s actually vegan leather and comes in at less than $100. A steal, yes, I think so!

When you pair heels and a clutch with jeans and a tee, no matter what – the look is instantly “dressed up.” Lover of all things blue that I am, this Envelope Clutch from Henri Bendel is one of my favorite things in my closet! It holds just the bare necessities, all that you’d need for a night out, and comes in a structured embossed leather. PS: It’s also available in dark blue and orange.

This is the part of the post where I chat about these jeans and wedges, naturally. 😉

I’m wearing these jeans right now as I type this, because they are literally as comfortable as my lululemon leggings. True Religion, you’ve done it again! (And they are on sale for only $139!)

I also ravved on insta this morning all about these Emilia Wedges from Sole Society. It’s INSANE how comfortable they are for all-day wear.

Okay, enough about clothes! I actually have a reallllly exciting announcement-ish to make. Well two, now that I think about it.

First of all, have y’all noticed the redesign on the blog!? It’s pretty similar to how it previously looked. But it’s now much more user-friendly, sleek & cleaner! I’ve switched from blogger to wordpress, with the help of a friend. It might have taken a little longer than I ever dreamed, but it was definitely worth the wait! I’m so excited for all of the new things I can now do with this blog of mine!

Second announcement: I am starting a new job on Monday! Life sure is full of surprises! I hadn’t mentioned it much on here, but for over a year now I’ve been working at francesca’s corporate here in Houston. It’s been the most wonderful experience, surrounded by passionate people, cute clothes, and creative ideas all day long. But I’m oh-so-ready for this next adventure, which is also in fashion & marketing! I’ll share more about it soon! But for now I’ll say, it’s still in Houston, it’s still full time and I’m so excited to start on Monday that I’m practically giddy inside. Can’t wait to share more with you all soon!

In the meantime, you guys have a great weekend! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
