Printed Party Dress

It’s late June, which means we’re all in the throws of wedding season 2016! If you’re like me, you’ve already  sent in your RSVP, but you still don’t know what to wear yet. I’ll save you from searching high & low for that perfect party dress for your pal’s upcoming nuptials.  Because today I’m talking all about why I think this palm printed dress makes the perfect wedding guest dress.

And it’s currently 50% off, so there’s that too!

For starters, it’s not white! I’m a sucker for white party dresses but the only time you are simply forbidden from wearing one is when invited to anyone else’s wedding.

This navy and green printed halter dress stays far away from any sort of scandalous “could-be-deemed-as-bad-luck” dress colors.

For example, red is one of those eye-catching colors that’s considered bad luck to wear to a wedding. Plus it draws attention away from the bride. Best to stay away from that one all together!

That is, if you’re superstitious! 😉

Even with a bright and bold print, the “Amalfi Sundress” is just subtle enough to stand out without STANDING OUT.

Plus, it’s easy to accessorize! I’ve paired it with both lisi lerch tassels & my straw crossbody as well as a bold blue clutch and silver jewelry on another occasion.

Another plus?

The lightweight linen will keep you cool even during the hottest of outdoor Texas weddings. This has been tested! 😉

Last, but certainly not least, the midi-length makes dancing with your date all the more fun.

More fabric for twirling in!

I recently wore this summer sundress to our first official Texas wedding! For those of you who might not know, I was born & raised in Tennessee and have lived in Texas for just a little under three years now. We love everything about our new home, and especially the fact that weddings down here involve two-stepping, country music and line dancing! Even though I was in sky-high heels, you better believe I took advantage of the opportunity to line dance and two-step … even if I wasn’t very good at either of the two, I sure had fun!

PS: Wouldn’t a dress like this be fun to wear to Mexico? (Duh!) Ann Taylor is running a Destination Summer Sweepstakes until July 8th to send you and a pal (if you win) to Tulum, Mexico. (Hello, entering now!) I can only imagine the sun, the sand and the margaritas!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog! Don’t forget to follow along on snapchat, where you’ll most likely see behind the scenes moments of said two-stepping. 😉
