Dinner in Dallas

Since living in Texas, Patrick and I have made it our mission to explore as much of the state as possible. While life, of course, has gotten in the way of completing our Texas Travel Bucket List – I recently had the opportunity to knock Dallas off the list! And I couldn’t be more thrilled to share my experience visiting with my Big City TX Neighbors with you all!

I met up with the team from Visit Dallas and a few other bloggers from across The South for a fun-filled weekend discovering the best things to see, do, eat & drink in The Big D! Today’s post kicks off my Dallas Travel Diary with our stay at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. {And details on what I wore to our big dinner out, naturally!}

Loose, flowy bohemian tops & dresses have been my go-to lately! I recently saw this one at Houston’s Planet Blue boutique and couldn’t’ resist it! (My dress ships free today!) Paired with lace-up heels from Sole Society (so comfortable by the way), I thought that this would be the perfect outfit to wear to our girl’s night out dinner at Rosewood Mansion.

The Mansion Restaurant lives in what was once a sprawling private estate. The decor is inspired by the original owner’s love of English chateaus, with it’s gorgeous & intricate details – such as a hand-carved fireplace, stained glass windows, and dark wood paneling.

It was so much fun to see bloggers Jenni (Haute of the Rack), Krystal (A Pinch of Lovely) & Lynne (Lynne Gabriel) again, as well share the weekend with new friends!

We cheered to the start of our trip and soon dined on the most delicious contemporary American cuisine I’ve ever had, it’s safe to say!

The pork short rib was melt-in-your-mouth absolutely divine!

Dinner ended with the most intricate strawberry cheesecake dish I’ve ever seen (looked like an edible whiffle ball to me!) I was in the happiest of food comas by the time the evening was over.

Oh, and the box of cookies we all left our table with certainly didn’t help with said coma, but was MUCH appreciated!

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is also home to the Mansion Bar – a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. They whipped me up the tastiest Texas Mocktail Mule imaginable!

Throughout our four-day stay in Dallas, the Rosewood Mansion was our home-away-from-home. It was a perfect retreat after long busy days of playing tourist.

Whenever we had free time, I would run off to the pool or the terrace, with my book in tow, to soak up the sun and relax in the “almost fall-like” temperatures.

You can totally tell I’m pregnant by the fact that I woke up the morning after our heavy & oh-so-delicious dinner with the desire to immediately order room service for breakfast! {Even though we had plans to grab breakfast tacos just a few hours after this photo was taken!} Me and my girl have got to eat! And the room service presentation was too beautiful not to snap a photo of, I might add.

This week, I’ll be sharing a few more posts highlighting Dallas museums, shopping & even more delicious places to eat. There will be a lot of fashion mixed in too, not to worry!

And to my Texas readers, what are your favorite things to do in Dallas? I’m hoping to head back there soon with Patrick so we can experience the city together! I’d love some of your recommendations!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
