Casual in Fringed Plaid

Alice Kerley styles Anthropologie's Plaid Buttondown Dress with tall Old Gringo Boots for Fall.

I’m typing this during my layover at Dulles in D.C. this morning! I still can’t believe our babymoon in Maine has already come to an end. It’s always a little heartbreaking when something you look forward to for months & months comes & goes. But there is something even BIGGER on my horizon now and it’s all I can think about – our baby girl!

Now that I’m back to reality, I’m back to blogging this morning.  And sharing one of my favorite purchases this fall – a causal plaid buttondown dress that feels like the equivalent of wearing a pajama dress in public. It’s that comfortable!

Outfit Details

As you all may know, Anthropologie is truly my weakness when it comes to shopping! We even stopped at the Maine boutique and I swooned over everything. For some reason, Anthro’s Maine selection seemed more “exotic” than Houston’s. But that’s probably just because I hadn’t been in in a while!

I bought this buttondown dress about a month ago and have worn it a number of times since. With boots, over a tank & jeans and even with leggings – it’s as comfortable-as-can-be and can be dressed both up & down. The slits on the sides are a little high, so if you’re taller than 5’6″ (my height) you might want to wear tall boots or leggings underneath this dress. (Or even size up for extra length.)

If you followed along with me on Instagram this weekend, you might have been overloaded by all of the Maine eye-candy I’ve been sharing. Sorry, not sorry! I couldn’t help but photograph EVERYTHING! The scenery was beyond stunning & there were many times I even told Patrick that I felt like I was in a storybook! The town of Kennebunkport was so quaint & downright adorable. In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a full recap of our recent trip.

But in the meantime, you can always give yourself a daily dose of wanderlust by heading on over to see my recent stay in Dallas in this post

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday & a great start to the work week!
