Stripes + Cowboy Boots

Houston fashion blogger styles a Legoe Heritage striped shirt dress with brown Lucchese cowboy boots.

I may not be wearing my cowboy boots in every single post on Lone Star Looking Glass, but behind the blog I live in these babies! Out of all my shoes, it’s safe to say that I have the most fun dressing up my trusty (and oh-so-comfy) boots. This holiday season, I couldn’t help myself, so I’m giving one of YOU the chance to snag a new pair of cowboy boots for yourself too!

I’ve teamed up with Cavender’s today to give away a $250 gift card to shop boots & more. From simple & sleek to embroidered and edgy, Cavender’s has SO many fun boot styles to choose from. Head down to the bottom of the post for my thoughts on dressing up a pair of cowboy boots & more details on how to enter to win!

Outfit Details

When it comes to dressing up a pair of cowboy boots, some say there are rules – but I say there aren’t! However, I usually try to pair them with something that’s not already super Western-looking, to balance them out for everyday. I love the way my Lucchese boots stand out against this blue & white striped shirt dress. This stylish “boyfriend” shirt dress from Legoe Heritage is created with moms-to-be in mind but works for any stage of motherhood. While it has fit the bump throughout my entire pregnancy, I can’t wait to wear it again post bump too! {With my boots, naturally.}

For this look, I wanted to tie in the dark brown shade of the boots with my accessories. My cowhide handbag was an obvious choice and the strap on my wristwatch pull all the pieces together a little too perfectly. I added a statement necklace to top it off! (Sadly, I dropped this necklace a few days after we shot this look and broke it……talk about TRAGEDY! C’est la vie!)

Anywho, now that I’ve broken down my look (& my current favorite way to style my boots) you’re probably hankering for a pair yourself! Lone Star Looking Glass readers are in luck! From now until Wednesday you can enter to win a $250 gift card to Cavender’s, the ultimate cowboy boot destination! All you have to do is enter through the rafflecopter below.

Good luck!

    Favorite Holiday tradition is being able to gather with family and just enjoy time with each other. It’s not about the gifts but just be able to enjoy each other company and be able to make memories and to share old memories though out the years, just having everyone, cousins aunts uncles and seeing how far we’ve come and grow is just the best part. That’s a true Holiday Tradition.

    I don’t have a lot of traditions around the Holidays. However, my family celebrates Thanksgiving early so I don’t have any obligations on actual Thanksgiving. I always try and do something relaxing and low-key. For the past 5 years, my hubby and I have gone hiking or snowshoeing. That’s my favorite and it has now become our tradition.
