Boho Mini Dress + 38-Week Bumpdate

38-weeks! Time sure does fly. But really, these have felt like the longest 38-weeks of my entire life. Now with roughly 11 days until my due date, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for our little one’s arrival!

While the bump is getting a bit harder to dress, I’m still having fun with it! Today I’m sharing how to still get away with mini-dresses later into your pregnancy & a 38-week bumpdate below. Head on down!

Shop the Look:

This boho red mini dress from Planet Blue was long enough to not be too scandalous with a big baby bump and over-the-knee boots. Pretty much all other mini dresses in my closet + the ones I’ve seen in stores are certified tops on me these days. So I was thrilled when this one worked! If trying the trend preggers, be sure to look for anything with a longer length, especially in the front. PS: This pretty mini is on sale for just $51!!

While this dress is pretttttty dang short, I probably wouldn’t wear it to work but I think it’s chic enough for lunch with the girls or an afternoon of shopping. At this point in my pregnancy, I wouldn’t wear this dress with anything but over the knee boots. Otherwise, that would just be a lil too much leg for a mom-to-be! 😉 Flats these days are key and I can’t get enough of these suede OTK boots. My favorite pair is sold out, but I’ve linked a similar style here that’s on sale for less than $150.

38-Week Bumpdate

Size: She’s as large as a winter melon. Next week is pumpkin followed by watermelon. She’s huge y’all!

Due Date: January 16th. 11 days away! My family has started placing bets on which particular day they think she’ll arrive. My mom is convinced it’s next Friday, the 13th. & My uncle thinks Elvis Presley’s birthday will be her due date, Jan. 8th. As for me, I have NO idea. Would be pretty cool if baby girl and I shared our birthdays! Mine is on the 17th. 😉

Feeling: I can’t stop thinking, “I could go into labor at ANY moment!!!” Having no idea whether or not your body is about to completely start freaking out is quite the crazy feeling. I’m trying to force myself to relax and take things day by day. But I can’t help waking up each morning thinking, “This could be the day!!”

Cravings: Two weeks ago, I wanted to eat everything. This week, I find myself starting to slow down. There’s just not enough space for a huge meal and a 7-pound baby in there. But somehow I’m still fitting in those pastries … my weakness!

Recent Highlights: Patrick and I spent the holidays alone in Texas, just the two of us. Baby watch had begun after all! It was so much fun to veg out on the couch and soak up the last few lazy blissful days of our family of two.

Up Next: My baby to-do list has been completely completed! INSANE. I have two more doctor’s appointments and if baby girl isn’t here on her own by the 22nd, I’ll be induced. It’s all SO soon!

Nursery: 95% finished now!! We chalk painted a dresser and a side table for it this weekend. We also bought one of those 3-tier metal stands from Ikea to go next to the changing table to hold all of the diapering necessities. Actually filling drawers and organizing everything has been so much fun. I can’t wait to start using it all!

Third Trimester Favorites:

  • My slip on sneakers. One of the three pairs of shoes I’ve been rotating lately. I don’t think my feet are swollen but I’m just choosing comfort above all else these days.
  • Monogrammed bibs & bloomers. I visited Houston’s The Monogram Shop because … I just couldn’t help myself and grabbed a few pairs of bloomers & bibs in different sizes all with little girl’s monogram. Crossing our fingers that our #1 name choice sticks! We have a plan B if she pops out and the name just doesn’t work for her. I guess you never know until you meet them?
  • Over the bump jeans. All of my under the bump maternity jeans have been retired for the past month now. These babies are the only things fitting lately!
  • Baby Books. I’ve been so focused on all things “pregnancy” that it’s been easy to forget that I need to read up on what to do/know once baby is actually here. Bringing up Bebe along with Baby 411 have been my go-to’s. And thank heavens for iPhones and google! I’m thrilled that anytime I have a question about anything, I’ll be able to just search it. (From reputable sources of course.) For example, if I’m having trouble figuring out swaddling, there are so many step by step picture tutorials on the web that I’m sure I’ll get it down in no time. 21st-century technology & information, I love you!

This could potentially be my last baby bump update! Insane! But I have a feeling the 40th week will roll around and she’ll still be cooking. We shall see. Thank you all for following along this oh-so-special time. I’ve really enjoyed sharing it with you all!
