Blue Striped Bell Sleeves

Happy Monday! I actually wrote this post in advance, instead of the morning of posting. Which is something this procrastinator rarely does! So that’s why you’re seeing it in a timely fashion this morning.  I guess I learned my lesson last week. Nothing really gets done “on time” with a newborn baby! 😉

Today I’m chatting about what we were up to this weekend and how we managed to actually leave the house (multiple times & semi-successfully too) with Annie. Plus, I’m dishing on this spring look and the killer deal on this striped bell sleeve top!

Before I jump into my little life update, I’ve got to talk about this look!

Say hello to my latest “favorite” top. (I know I say that all the time!) This blue striped bell sleeve number is only $35 and I feel like the boxy/tunic cut of it is super flattering on many body types. {Especially those of a 4-week postpartum mom!} Gimme all the tunic tops these days. [/one-half-first]

Elaine Turner Cork Heels Resort 2017

&& how fun are these drop earrings from Baublebar?! I’ve worn them so many times since I got them. They come in a bunch of colors but I love this white/gray pair because I feel like they go with almost everything.

Same with these cork heels! These are from Elaine Turner’s 2017 Resort Line and every time I slip them on my feet I feel totally transported from the fact that the calendar says its still technically winter. These pretties are just begging to be worn on a beach vacation! (Thank goodness we already have one planned for this summer … or I may just be going crazy with all of the daydreams!)

As I’m typing this, it’s Saturday afternoon and I’m hanging out on the couch with Annie watching the Music Man. I’m such a sucker for old musicals and this one is one of my all time favorites! Patrick had one of his college buddies in town this weekend, and while we were a bit nervous to host with a newborn at home, Annie was wonderfully (and surprisingly) chill this weekend.

I actually went out and about on my own with her for the first time this past week. I liked it so much, that I tried it a few more times! I’m not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about carrying the car seat, maneuvering the stroller, making sure I had every single thing I needed in the diaper bag and what not. While it sounds like it would all be super simple, it all seemed so daunting to me due to how precious my cargo was! (And the fact that I just had a c-section and was pretty nervous about lifting everything.)

On my first solo trip, to Target, I had to call Patrick from the parking lot & ask him how to unlock the stroller. I then realized I forgot her car seat cover, so before we even got out of the car all the way, I hopped back in to return home to grab it. While Annie doesn’t have her shots yet, we can’t just live in a bubble until the end of March when she gets them. So I’ll go to public places either early in the morning when there aren’t many people out & about or I’ll pick a restaurant with a big outdoor patio and dine at the least crowded times of the day. It’s been working out pretty well so far! And having a car seat cover really helps too!

I felt more confident (and things went much smoother) each time I went out on my own this week. There were a few hiccups here and there (literal ones too) as well as some piercing cries that cut me to my core, but all in all, I think we are getting this leaving the house thing down and I’m so glad!

Hope you all had a fun filled weekend and are getting your Mondays started off on the right foot! Cheers to a new week!
