Coffee Talks & Mom Outfits

Swedish Hasbeens Pearl High in Black with a Dagne Dover Small Tote

What goes better with an iced coffee than a pair of your favorite heels and a comfortable knit (flowy) top!? These Swedish Hasbeens sandals are about the only pair of “heels” I’ve been wearing lately. I’m terrified of heels now that I’m holding Annie 24/7!

Today I’m chatting (over my iced coffee) about my new “mom style.” Basically why I am wearing jeans and comfy knits all day errday around the house. Plus, I’m sharing this laid back boho/Southwestern look with you all. Head on down below for more!

I’ve been a mom to Annie Kathleen for a little over a month. In one month, I’ve learned just how many outfit changes someone can have in one day, and not by choice either! I’ve been doing this whole “stay at home while also trying to work from home mom” thing for almost 2 weeks now. When I’m at home for the day, I’ve been wearing a combo of leggings, (maternity) jeans, comfy knit tops & oversized tees. (I love the high neck and smocked detail of this romantic soft top! && it’s on sale toO!)

I feel like when I get dressed, out of my PJs, and put on something cute, but also extremely comfortable, it makes me feel better about spending so much time on the couch. Even though I’m not seeing anyone over the age of 5 weeks, that is until Patrick comes home, I still feel dressed & ready for whatever the day may bring.

Putting a brush to my hair and donning a cute outfit can do wonders for my daily motivation! I mean today I published this blog post, met a friend for lunch, stopped by Cheeky Vintage (aka my office), ran a few more errands, did three loads of laundry and took extra special care of baby Annie … and it’s only 4:00pm! (I sense a glass of wine in my future.) Not that I’m saying, “hey I wore a cute outfit so I accomplished a lot today,” but dressing for the day and pulling myself together certainly helped me get out the door & ready to conquer anything.

So while I fantasized about staying at home in my PJs and watching Netflix during my maternity leave … I’m actually quite glad I have only done (just a tiny bit) of that and for the most part have been pretty productive while my baby girl naps!

Now that I’m almost finished with my coffee, I’m ready to hit publish on this little piece of the internet & and see if Annie will wake up & play with me. 😉 Hope you all have a wonderful afternoon/evening!
