Kicking Off Rodeo Season in Style

Free People Starlight Mini Dress with Old Gringo Mara Tall Cowboy Boots

Writing this right now while I’m watching The Bachelor. I can’t believe how completely sucked into this show I am! This is my first season to actually watch it … & to be honest, I’m usually not that into reality TV shows. But I can’t get over this! This guy is seriously dating 4 women at once! In some ways, it’s like HBO’s Big Love and everyone’s okay with it. So bizarre!

Anyway, Texas gals … who is excited for Rodeo Houston!? It starts this week and I seriously can’t wait! Gearing up for rodeo, I’m sharing a few of my favorite cowgirl inspired looks on the blog. All of these would be perfect for a boot scootin’ corn dog eating good time!

Cowboy boots go with rodeo like powdered sugar goes with funnel cake. You can’t attend the festivities without ’em! (I mean you can…but why would you!?) I can’t lie, I have quite the collection of cowboy boots. They are my weakness! But this Old Gringo pair is by far my favorite. And I love to pair them with boho mini dresses! They’re just tall enough to keep this style of dress from looking too short.

However, when I pair this dress with jeans, it suddenly becomes a top too! I love the way it looks with skinny jeans and tall wedges. The heels make the dress look shorter, which is great when you want it to look like a tunic as opposed to a dress. Lots of mileage out of this pretty piece! This Free People tunic top/mini dress comes in three colors and is such great quality! The intricate embroidery is absolutely gorgeous! The Starlight Mini Dress has a bit of a higher price point, but if I were to divide the number of times I’ve worn it by the price … the cost per wear is totally worth it. (lol Do you ever do that to justify your purchases too!?)

Now back to rodeo, are any of y’all going!? And if so, which performers are you most excited about?! We really want to see Willie Nelson, but gotta find a babysitter first. Life has certainly changed since Rodeo last year!

And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
