Cool in Culottes

Spring outfit inspiration: how to wear white culottes.

Can y’all believe spring officially starts just next week!? I’m sure those of you buried in snow across the northeast are more than ready! Spring in Houston feels like what summer probably feels like to the rest of the country. This is the time of year where we sit on our patios, dine alfresco and explore the outdoors. It’s just too hot to do a lot of that come summertime so I’m looking forward to soaking up this season!

Starting with styling some of my spring favorites, naturally!

Shop the Look:

From floral embroidered tops to sky high wedges and crisp white culottes, nothing is sweeter than spring style. This was my first time to experiment with a pair of culottes (thanks to Rent the Runway) and I absolutely loved the way the look turned out! It’s really different than what I typically wear, much more formal actually. A look like this could be worn to the office or even church. The culottes are so fun because you feel like you’re wearing a skirt yet you have the freedom of pants. (Kind of like a glorified … skort. – who else lived in skorts when they were 6-years-old!?) They look great styled with button downs, crop tops, and even chunky sweaters.

I paired these white culottes with an under $20 striped embroidered button down, my go-to spring wedges and this adorable mini crossbody from Foley + Corinna. A sucker for anything blue, I was immediately drawn to this gorgeous leather bag! The rose gold strap is something I’ve never seen before & I love how it makes a statement without being too bold. You can find it for 30% off at Bloomingdale’s.

In non-fashion related news, I wanted to thank y’all for your sweet feedback from Monday’s post! Reading your kind words made sharing something so personal much less terrifying. So thank you! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog. 🙂
