Colorblocked Midi Skirt

Anthropologie colorblocked midi skirt and white off the shoulder top.

If I were a piece of clothing, I’d probably be a midi-skirt. For some reason, I just love this silhouette! Maybe it’s because it evokes the everyday style of a different era? Reminds me of my grandma? Or that they just exude a certain feminine elegance even in the most casual of prints & styles. I’m sharing details on this look with Anthropologie today, chatting about different ways to style these ankle-skimming skirts & sharing a bit about my Mother’s Day weekend all below!

We all know I love me some Anthropologie. That store is my serious weakness! Sometimes the price point can kill a girl, but y’all …. this skirt is only $98! For a piece this amazing & well-made, I kind of think it’s a steal! It fits true to size and the print is just bold enough to be eye-catching but also subtle enough to be paired with a number of different colored tops. White is always my go to, but black, gray & navy would also look just as cute!

I paired it with an off-the-shoulder top, also from Anthro (and only $78! – again a great price point for this store!) I tucked just a bit of the top into the skirt to keep it from being too slouchy at the waist, but I liked having a little bit of the extra fabric hanging out. I felt that it gave this a more laid back “I’m off to the farmer’s market in my fabulous outfit” look. 😉

In other news, I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day weekend! This was my first one as a mom and my first one without my grandma. Mother’s Day is also “grandmother’s day” too! As hard as it was being away from my own mom, (we’re celebrating next weekend) it was also wonderful being able to spend the day with Patrick and Annie. We had scratch-made blueberry pancakes for breakfast followed by an afternoon at the zoo! Annie was awake for maybe half an hour of our visit, but I’m sure she had as much fun as we did!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
