I’m jumping on the blogger bandwagon & blogging about + shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Are you shopping it too!? I mean, who doesn’t love a good deal!?! The sale of the season opened to the public today and there are so many fabulous finds still available to shop! You don’t have to have a special card to access it anymore either. Wooo!
So what makes this sale such a big deal? I was curious myself at first. It’s one of a kind in that the pieces that are marked down are brand NEW! The majority of the sale is made up of fall items that have yet to hit stores. The prices go down for the sale period and will go back up to their “normal” price tag as soon as the sale is over. It is a great time to stock up on fall pieces, your favorite basics and wardrobe staples.
Tody, I’m sharing a peek into my dressing room diaries below and chatting about the fit and quality of everything tried on! I’ll be sharing my top picks from different categories over the weekend. So stay tuned!
I always gravitate towards anything blue or white, it is truly my weakness! So it was no surprise I picked up this chambray top. It’s definitely a go-with-anything piece and the fabric is oh-so-soft. With everything in such high demand during the sale, this pretty top is sadly already out of stock. I’ll let ya know if it restocks though! In the meantime, I’ve linked some similar styles (all on sale) for ya!
I have to admit, putting on this thick peplum top really confused me. It is close to 100 degrees outside this week, after all! A piece like this peplum sweatshirt is a great buy now & wear later one. This one is on sale for $45.90, originally $70! I’m wearing a medium in the one I tried on, only because they were already sold out of smalls. I actually ended up liking how the medium had a nice oversized fit to it. So I think you could either stick true to size or go up if you want.
I hope the bell sleeve trend never goes out of style! This off the shoulder bell sleeve top comes in both white & a striped print. I like that it can be worn so many different ways too, liked tied at the waist or even on the shoulder. It’s a fun versatile piece that can be worn now + styled for fall.
Basics are what it’s all about when it comes to the Nordstrom Sale! These Halogen jeans were ridiculously comfortable and the high-low frayed ankles are right on trend. I’d probably wear these almost every other day if they were in my closet! Also, you can never have enough knit tops! (Especially if you spend your days with a baby! … Hello, outfit changes!) This maroon one is super flattering, comes in a ton of colors and is priced right around $17!
Another cute peplum! This striped top also comes in a navy and is such an easy throw on & go piece for fall. Pair it with tall boots or flats and you’re instantly polished & put together!
One thing that was definitely added to my shopping cart were these high-waisted Topshop jeans. For only $45.90, they can NOT be beat! I’ve actually been wanting a pair of true high waisted jeans for ages. I tried these on on a whim and was so sad to have to leave the dressing room without wearing them. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could check out in the dressing room and not have to change back into your regular clothes!?
Sidenote, the first time I tried on maternity jeans … I made that situation happen! I was like there is NO way I’m taking these off haha! Well, these Topshop jeans feel (allllmost) just as comfy!
Speaking of comfy, these cashmere sweater is beyond dreamy! Another favorite find from the sale. The green is currently out of stock (but will probably bounce back soon) so I’ve linked the cream for ya. I just imagine wearing this while sipping on my morning coffee & getting to work at my kitchen table early in the AM once the weather starts to cool.
I also found this crazy but awesome graphic tee on sale from Topshop. It’s another thing that I tried on on a whim and just fell in looooove. The length is amazing, the fabric so soft and the print so wild & crazy that it’s totally fine that you don’t even know what’s going on in it. 😉
So there you have it, my first ever dressing room diaries! I actually had so much fun doing this and I think I’ll want to make it more of a theme here on Lone Star Looking Glass. I’m sensing an Anthro visit in my future!??! Anyway, stay tuned tomorrow where I’ll be rounding up the best of each category … with a focus on little ones too!
