Monday Motivation: A Visit to VillaSport Gym Cypress

How’s about a little dose of Monday motivation to kick off a new week?! While I’m still very much in vacation mode (you can follow on instagram and you’ll see some snaps of our current beach trip!) I’m planning on getting back into my fitness routine as soon as I return. The past year and a half has been quite the adventure in regards to fitness, with pregnancy and a new baby thrown into the mix. Thankfully there are facilities like VillaSport that make it SO easy to get back, or begin to, or continue to get into shape. VillaSport is a new athletic club & spa that just opened up in Cypress (a suburb north of Houston) and I had such a fun opportunity to tour it and get the scoop before it opened to the public last week.

Today I’m walking y’all through the new VillaSport gym Cypress, sharing my go-to athletic wear and chatting about what keeps me motivated!

VillaSport gym Cypress is really unlike any other athletic club I’ve ever seen before. So much so that the team doesn’t even use the “g-word” (gym) when talking about themselves. It’s like walking into a fancy resort, but the only thing that is missing is the hotel room part. From training, playing, relaxing and entertaining, VillaSport offers it all … with childcare thrown in too!

We strolled through the fitness center and watched as brand new weights, treadmills, and training tools were installed and shined in anticipation for opening day the following week. The fitness center has advisors on hand to answer any question at the drop of a hat. With over 150 classes offered each week, guests can sign up for programs such as pilates, spin, boot-camp and yoga.

While walking through VillaSport gym Cypress, I picked up this medicine ball above expecting it to be SO heavy. It felt light as a feather to me! Turns out carrying around a baby all day long makes your arms much stronger than you think! 😉 This fun little surprise had me feeling all the more motivated to pop into a class that afternoon.

While the athletic facilities are awe-inspiring, I have to say … so are the locker rooms. Complete with saunas, steam rooms, lounge chairs and even TVs, I’m not sure I’d be able to be pulled away in time for my group-class to begin!

However, one thing that will always pull me away from anything else is a day at the pool! VillaSport gym Cypress has multiple indoor and outdoor pools offering year-round recreation. An adults-only lap pool boasts 25-yard lap lanes while the zero-entry family pool is complete with fountains and two water slides. There is even a poolside bar that whips up snacks and cocktails.  Why you would ever want to leave, is anyone’s guess!

But the real shining star of VillaSport gym Cypress, in my opinion, is their childcare facility VillaKids. The fact that I can drop Annie off in trusted hands for a two-hour stretch while I go for a swim, a run or even grab a mani/pedi at the spa is unreal to me! VillaKids has over 70 members on its team and provides daily rotations with theme-based programs for the visiting kiddos.

At the end of our tour, we were treated to a few hours at VillaSport gym Cypress doing whatever we fancied. A visit to the pool was naturally my first choice! The water is temperature controlled, so even on those sweltering hot summer days, the pool stays cool for the guests. After a few slides down the waterslides, we laid out under the umbrellas in the shade, while going back in for a dip every so often.

For a trip to VillaSport gym or a walk around the block, I’m always wearing my Addidas Flashback tennis shoes. They are SO so comfortable! (Great for road trips too!) I also love these leggings by Ivy Park (available at Six:02). They come in a solid black and the high-rise cut is flattering and comfortable. This simple look is great for so many different types of exercise, from walking to running to pilates, to spin, and yoga! Now that Annie is older and we’re in a really great routine, I finally have what feels like a bit of extra time to fit in a workout or two during my day. And the fact that Annie can be entertained at VillaKids while I do so is all the more motivation!
