Tiers of Blue: NYFW Day 2

Shop the Look:

Sorry I am not sorry for all of the NYFW content that is currently live (and will be heading to) the blog soon. We snapped so many photos while we were in The Big Apple and I have tons of fun looks still to share. This one, in particular, was one of my absolute favorites! More on that and all the deets on Day 2 of fashion week are below!

Shop the Look:

When I packed for fashion week, sundresses and warm weather were totally at the top of my mind. Pretty much everything that made its way into my suitcase was either strapless, short sleeve or fit for a hot summer’s day. I definitely did not plan on topping this blue tiered dress with a leather jacket, because it is as cute-as-it-can-be on its own. (PS: A shorter version of this darling dress just came out here!) The mid-60s on that particular day had me wanting to bundle up. (Again, shout out to Rent the Runway for helping me to find a jacket in a pinch!) But in the end, I liked the edgier version of this look much better!

To play off the black leather jacket, I added some black drop earrings and tried something totally new with my hair. The Tresemme team actually has a little pop-up salon right in the center of Skylight Clarkson Square, where the majority of NYFW is held. Anyone attending the shows can stop by for a fresh ‘do. With several different fun braided options to choose from, I wanted to try something very different from anything I’ve ever done to my hair before.  A French braid sat at the top of my head, cascading into a full ponytail. (A look I could never have achieved on my own … as I am terrible at French braids.) But anyway, the rest of the day I felt just like Emilia Clarke as Khaleesi and it made day 2 of fashion week all the more fun.

Details on Day 2

You might have seen how other bloggers have been breaking down their fashion week experiences day by day. SO much is jam-packed into each day while we are up there that there seriously is no way to put everyone in one blog post. So I’m sharing the highlights of day 2 below!

Rent the runway flagship store in New York City.

Picking up a few goodies at Rent the Runway!

Followed by coffee with Lauren from Elizabeth Arden at the cutest little coffee shop in SOHO.

Next up was my first show of the day, Noon by Noor. Walking into Skylight Clarkson Square was such a surreal experience. Fashionistas and photographers were on every corner.

In between shows, I got my hair all dolled up by Tresemme. I also changed into the blue dress from this post for my next show, Tadashi Shoji.

I spy a familiar face in the crowd at Tadashi! My good friend and fellow Houston blogger Dawn! 🙂

Tadashi Shoji’s designs for Spring were bright & cheery and full of gorgeous embroidered details that had me swooning.

After a busy day of meetings and shows, I met up with my mom and Annie. They were having a blast together at the cutest little cafe down the street from NYFW. And what do you know, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman made an appearance again and is sitting in the back corner behind my mom! We had no idea at the time and only noticed it when we were going through photos. Too funny!

That’s all for day 2. More New York posts to come soon!
