HEB Curbside: Grocery Shopping at the Touch of a Button

Heb curbside pickup review with Texas life & style blogger. | HEB Curbside review featured by top US lifestyle blog, Lone Star Looking Glass

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of HEB Curbside. The opinions and text are all mine.

Not too long ago, my mother-in-law told me all about the glorious-ness that was ordering groceries online. After having my mind blown, and wrapping my head around the fact that this was real and not just something in an episode of The Jetsons, I decided to give it a whirl. Let’s just say, I don’t know if I’ll ever walk into a grocery store again! HEB Curbside delivery service has completely changed the way I shop for groceries, for more than the obvious reasons. Today I’m chatting about my experience using the HEB Curbside, sharing my tricks to weekly meal planning, PLUS I’m also dishing on my absolute FAVORITE recipe for homemade oohy-goohy-cheesy lasagna that I’m sure y’all will love just as much as I do!

Head on down for more…..

HEB Curbside Review

Don’t get me wrong, I love a relaxing Sunday morning spent browsing the colorful aisles of my local H-E-B. (If you don’t live in Texas & have never experienced an HEB before, well get on down here and stop by ASAP!! You’ll find you never knew you could love a grocery store SO much. And I’m totally serious.) Anyway, when I’m in a pinch, I’ll dash into the store, get what I need & walk away with an impulse item or …  seven. Who else does same?!

Why I Shop with HEB Curbside

What I love about HEB Curbside service, is that it not only saves a ton of time and & is the most convenient thing to ever exist – but it also helps tremendously with meal planning & budgeting. For only $4.95 (the price of a fancy coffee) I have all of my groceries picked up for me & delivered straight to my car.

When I’m ready to place an order, I head on to HEB.com and start my list. While I’m working on my grocery list, I am also simultaneously meal planning. I’ll dig around on my recipe board on Pinterest, pull up my favorites, check the ingredients & add whatever I need to my shopping list just one tab over. I’ll plan an entire week’s worth of recipes this way. And instead of jotting the items down on a piece of paper (like I did in the “olden days”) I’m putting everything directly into my shopping cart! Plus, your cart’s total is in plain sight. So you can have a great idea of how much your spending long before you get to the checkout counter.

Order at the Touch of a Button with HEB Curbside

Once your grocery list is finalized, you can place your order and select a time slot for pickup. Same-day time slots are often available, but with several hours of wiggle room to give associates enough time to grab your goodies. You can pick up your groceries anytime between 7:30 and 9pm. I typically like to place my order at night (while sipping on a glass of vino) and pick my items up first thing in the morning.

Grab Your Goods & G0

Once you pull into the parking lot at your local HEB, Curbside pick-up signs are easy to spot and will direct you where to go. Typically you can find the lot off to the side of the stores. As soon as you pull into your spot, another sign tells you just what to do in order to get your goodies as quickly as possible.

Soon after your text is sent, a cheery HEB employee shows up with all of your munchies ready for delivery. Sometimes not every item that you ordered is available in the store that day. A particular flavor or brand that you ordered could be sold out. If this is the case, the HEB team will do their best to substitute the products for you. The peach/pear La Croix we ordered was sold out that day, so the team substituted it with grapefruit. Just a simple little switch!

Thumbs up for doing all of my grocery shopping without leaving my car, thanks to HEB Curbside services!! (Ps: Annie was snoozing in the back seat and not having to disturb her to get our goods was just icing on the cake!)

Once we were home, we unloaded all of our groceries & were ready to start cooking. This weekend I whipped up my favorite lasagna recipe for my little family. It makes enough to give you leftovers for DAYS and the use of cottage cheese as opposed to traditional ricotta is just diiiiivine. Head on over to one of my fav foodie blogs for the full recipe. PS: if you like a bit of heat (and what Texan doesn’t!?) my pro-tip is to add red chili peppers to the sauce when simmering. 😉

The recipe also calls for oven-ready lasagna noodles which saves a ton of time in the kitchen.

Smiling big for several reasons: 1. Wine. 2. I’m holding a mixture of sour cream, parmesan & cheese. & 3. I ordered everything I needed for this dinner on the internet!

Have you tried HEB Curbside service before? Did you feel like it was simply *magic* having all of your groceries appear in your car while you were playing on your iPhone like I did!? Let me know in a comment below!
