Boho Holidays in Embroidered Velvet

Navy Velvet Embroidered Dress with a Turquoise Henri Bendel Marquis Mini Satchel and black Seychelles Over the Knee Boots

I’m typing this post while sitting on the balcony of my hotel room, watching the turquoise blue waves crash in the distance. Pinch me! Is this real?! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you may have seen how I am in the Bahamas with Bahamas Tourism & Bahamas Air! I’m sharing all the details on why I’m here below! I’m also chatting about this gorgeeeeous velvet embroidered dress! It’s a steal for just $30 and is a perfect addition to a “boho wardrobe” for the holidays!

This velvet dress has the most stunning and colorful embroidered details that make such a statement. While it is on the shorter side (I even sized up to a medium for length) it works because it can be worn as both a mini dress & a tunic top. I’m thinking paired with jeans & booties, it’ll be so comfortable for the holidays! I styled it with a pair of over the knee boots I’ve had for years & a bright turquoise Henri Bendel crossbody. Wishing I packed this crossbody for The Bahamas now! It would just blend right into that pretty blue water!

PS: these OTK boots are pretty similar and come in at a fabulous price point too!

Speaking of The Bahamas, I think I’ve fallen in love! We’ve been here for less than 24 hours now and have already been able to pack so much into our itinerary. In case you’re confused as to why I left Patrick & Annie behind and am on this random little vacation, let me tell you a bit more! I’m actually here with members of the press to cover Nassau in a story on Lone Star Looking Glass (& possibly other outlets) to promote Bahamas Tourism! A large group from Houston was sent down here on BahamasAir’s inaugural first flight from Bush Airport to Nassau. Now Houstonians (& Texans alike) can hop on over to The Bahamas in one quick trip & arrive before lunchtime! And with a just under three-hour flight, you can totally make a long weekend out of a Bahamas getaway!

Anywho, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism is keeping us busy, busy, busy & jam packing our schedule so we see everything that we can before we head out Sunday. I think I had about 6 different meals yesterday, trying to try all of the different colors & flavors at once. I’m still full! But don’t worry (I’m telling myself) I’ll certainly make room for all the delicious bites coming our way today. I’m thrilled to have been asked on this trip and I can’t wait to share the entire experience with you guys soon too!

So continue to follow along on insta & insta-stories for more! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
