Off the Shoulder Stripes fit for a Baby Bump

Houston fashion blogger styles a striped off the shoulder maternity top with maternity jeans, vionic lace up flats and a striped clare vivier clutch.

Annie is here, Annie is here!! (Did y’all see her arrival on my insta!?) I’ve been a mom for 10 days now! These past 10 days have certainly been the most wonderful & difficult of my entire life. I could write about 7 novels on the subject, seriously. I’ll definitely get into Annie’s arrival story in a bit more detail down the road, but until then I have some posts I shot before her arrival that I can’t wait to share!

Starting with this look & this fabulous off-the-shoulder striped maternity number. Who says you can’t be stylish at 39 weeks pregnant!? (Which is when we shot this look, to be precise!) Head on down below for details on this outfit of mine and what I’ll miss the most about pregnancy style now that I’m on the other end of the spectrum.

Shop the Look:

Audrey and Olive has been one of my favorite places to shop for comfortable clothes that fit my baby bump. While this top is technically not maternity, it certainly works at 38 weeks and would look just as cute with leggings as a tunic later. Most of their clothing is wearable both before and after baby, which is amazing! Plus, it’s affordable too. This striped off the shoulder number is only $38! For those who are not with child, I’ve got you covered with a few similar styles linked up above.

I dressed this bow sleeve top up with one of my favorite rancher hats, skinny jeans, and a Clare V. clutch that I recently scored on major sale. Gotta mention these flats too! Vionic Shoes are known for their comfort and these lace up pretties have an orthopedic footbed with added arch support. (Which I’m assuming will be a wonderful bonus as a new mom!)

So now that I’m not pregnant anymore … what do I miss the most about maternity style?

I’d have to say being able to wear fitted clothing without giving a care in the world is what I miss the most. Pregnancy is probably the only time in my life I’ll ever want to show off my belly, let’s be honest. Now that I’m post-partum, I’m ready to box up all of my fitted maternity tops and say “see ya next time!” There was definitely freedom in being able to show off every inch of your mom-to-be figure during the last two trimesters. Right now … it’s oversized flowy tops until I’m recovered and ready to hit up the gym!

And while this isn’t style related, I’ll also miss the constant rubbing of my belly. Subconsciously, I would always find my hand wandering down to baby, rubbing her and loving on her. Which in turn, caused quite a few of my tops & sweaters to pill up. Totally worth it though!

In other news, Annie is 11 days old today and is growing like a weed. She’s already grown out of her newborn clothes and I can nottttt handle it!! Some of them she only wore for about an afternoon! And if you’ve seen my instagram updates, you’ll have seen me mention that I’m having quite the recovery from my c-section. From fevers to infections, ughhh it’s been rough!! But I feel like I’m definitely on my way out of the woods. So thankful for our family being in town to help out!!  I’ll definitely be updating about life with baby in much more detail soon, so stay tuned!

And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
