Florals & a Pop of Yellow

Houston fashion blogger styles embroidered White Button down styled with skinny jeans and the coach dinky bag in yellow.

I feel like my obsession with all things embroidered is starting to get …. a little much. But I can’t staaaahhhppp. I’ve been loving embroidered tops, dresses, & bags before it was even “trendy.” So no, I won’t stop. I’ll just embrace it even more, especially with today’s embroidered button down. (And when you find a top  this cute & it’s only $26, you can’t say no!) Today I’m {naturally} chatting about this look & giving a little update on what’s going on in life lately.

This crisp white top looks great tucked into a skirt and paired with jeans or shorts. It runs a bit odd, It’s like it can’t decide if it wants to be a fitted button down or a tunic top at the same time. I’d suggest sizing up for more of an oversized fit. I went with a medium and actually I kinda wish I went with a large.

To bring out the pops of yellow in the flowers, I paired this top with my yellow Coach Dinky Bag. One of my favorite things to do is accessorize a look by pulling out some of the subtle colors in whatever pieces I’m wearing. A green, pink, red or light blue handbag would have the same bold effect as my little yellow bag. Neutral laser cut heels (like these cuties from Indigo Rd.) complete the look & don’t take away from all of the color up top.

Outside of the blog, life has been revolving all around sweet Annie, as it should! I’ve got her wrapped up in my  Solly baby wrap as I type this. Sometimes she loooooves it (and when she does it’s AMAZING!) and sometimes she won’t even tolerate it. But the latter is usually in the afternoons when she is a bit colicky. It’s so funny, Annie is an ANGEL all day long, except between the hours of 4-8pm. My parents tell me I was the same way as a baby, so now it’s my turn to enjoy all of the fun. 😉

It’s certainly been a challenge trying to figure out what’s going to calm her during those hours. Lately, it’s holding her upright while walking around the house doing mini squats!! Patrick and I have literally been taking turns with her haha. Parenting sure is an adventure! We’ll just look at each other and laugh sometimes, because it’s all you can do!

I’ve been working part-time from home since Annie was born, which has given me a whole lot more freedom during the day than I’ve ever known what to do with! I’ve made a point to meet friends for a walk at a different local park or trail at least once a week, then afterward we’ll go out to lunch. Those days are SO much fun! I feel like I’ve walked more since Annie has been born than I ever did before. I’m also discovering so many different parts of Houston that I never knew existed. Like the Arboretum, for example. If you couldn’t hear the 610 loop, you’d swear that you were deep in a forest far from civilization! It’s so scenic and has miles of gorgeous trails too.

On that note, I need to finish up with today’s blog work so I can get back out with Annie and the stroller, I’m becoming addicted! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
