Pretending It’s Fall in Plaid

The sun is shining & the leaves on the palm trees on my street are swaying. The thermostat says 95 degrees, the calendar says early September, but my mind is filled with all things *fall!* I’m getting in the fall spirit today with this Madewell look borrowed from the boys!

Shop the Look:

I haven’t shopped too much at Madewell before, but I have so many friends who RAVE about the brand. While browsing the shops of Market Street the Woodlands a few weeks ago, I popped into Madewell and stumbled upon the coziest of red flannel shirts to ever exist – the shirt pictured above.

I spent a good hour in Madewell that evening, finding so many different pieces that would work both before & after baby this fall & winter. And with all the delicious plaids for fall I couldn’t resist taking a few home with me. Sizing up two extra sizes in this red number also meant that I could wear this top all fall long, no matter how big my baby bell decides to be! (Plus, I’m really digging the over-sized boxy look of the top.)

Speaking of oversized tops, baby belly or not, after this foodie filled weekend they are much needed! When my parents come into town to visit we like to EAT. Going out for pretty much every meal, I don’t think I can think about tacos or pastries again for a long time.  Okay … at least not for another few hours. 😉 We tried Lee’s Fried Chicken & Donuts for the first time and ohh emm geee it was SO good. If you live in & are visiting HTX anytime soon, trust me & try their donut fried chicken sandwich!

Hope you all have a great start to the work week! And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
