Seeing Stripes + a 25 Week Bumpdate

Lone Star Looking Glass styles a Rachel Comey striped dress and shares her 25 week baby bump update.

Happy Monday! Today marks 25 weeks with this little girl just chilling inside me! This past week has been an absolute whirlwind. With a new house to get settled into & a longer than usual workweek, I feel like I’ve just been all over the place lately!

Head down to the bottom of the post where I’m sharing details on this cute + easy look, an update on the new digs & tidbits on all things baby girl!

Outfit Details

I have a HUGE Dallas travel recap/guide in the works, but in the meantime, I’m sharing some of my favorite looks we shot while in the Big D! This pretty striped dress Rachel Comey was a Rent the Runway find and it’s actually not maternity, but still fit perfecttttly over my little bump! (Love this similar one for a fraction of the price!) I dressed my stripes up with black booties, my favorite rancher hat & some fun gold statement jewelry for a day spent exploring my big-city neighbors.

On the homefront, we’re still getting settled into our new place. Moving while pregnant has been interesting, to say the least. I feel so helpless not being able to pick up any of the boxes and when usually I’d be so excited to dive into them, unpacking right & left. I find myself just wanting to lay on the couch & nap! Patrick has been SO amazing! (Hi there, Patrick, if you’re reading this!) He’s gone above & beyond to get us all situated into our new home. The pups are loving the new place too. (Photos to come, I promise!) The yard is almost three times the size and being able to see them run, no sprint, across the yard gives me all the dog mom feels!

Now for a bumpdate!

How Far Along: 25 weeks!

Baby is the Size of:  A Rutabaga. (Such a random vegetable!) She’s roughly 1.5 pounds and 13 inches long.

Name: Still a secret! But we picked her middle name last week and I absolutely ADORE it!

Movement: She is now constantly moving whenever she’s awake. It’s funny how I’ve started to figure out certain positions she likes. Sometimes, I can almost tell she’s going to start kicking before she even does it. So wild that she already has her own little routine!

Belly: Well, my belly is HUGE! & I never knew my belly button could get so big. Thankfully I don’t have any stretch marks just yet (hope it stays that way!) I’ve been using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter daily and I’m thinking that’s what’s helping? Plus it’s fun always smelling like chocolate!

Most Excited About: Her arrival, duh! And our upcoming babymoon! We’re escaping to Maine later this month for one last hurrah, just the two of us, before our little one’s arrival. I’m looking forward to some LEGIT fall weather, fall foliage & beautiful ocean views!

Feeling: With two weeks left in my second trimester, my energy levels are still way up there, but it’s getting harder and harder to move. I find myself choosing to just sit back & relax as much as possible. Heaven forbid I drop something on the ground, because bending over to pick anything up has become such a struggle! It’s almost comical. But I’m now at the size that I’m obviously recognizably pregnant. Strangers are even asking me about the baby while I’m out and about. It’s been fun!

Cravings/Aversions: I’m always wanting fruit, sweets, cereal & pastries. Don’t worry, I’m still eating healthy, though! However, plain grilled chicken absolutely abhors me! It’s the strangest thing.

Nursery Update: Well, we have a new house so she finally has a room! Right now it’s still lime green and waiting to be painted, but my glider is all set up (amidst the boxes) and I’ll go in there to sit every once in a while, daydreaming about what’s to come.

Favorite Baby Items We’ve Gotten So Far:

  • A mamaRoo – it’s like a bouncy seat that mimics the way a mother carries her baby. Instead of vibrating or just moving back and forth, it sways side to side & up & down, mimicking the way mothers comfort their babies. Let’s hope she loves it!
  • Adorable pink moccasins
  • The cutest play gym and rattle from Finn & Emma. Their baby gear is seriously adorable!
  • This rug for her nursery arrived and I think it’s going to fit in the space just perfectly.
  • This little monitor – it goes on her foot & measures her vitals! I’ll be sharing more on it soon. 🙂
  • Still loving my snoogle oh-so-much & highly recommend it!
  • Oh and these bumpstart tees are fab! On the weekends I’m living in maternity jeans & stretchy tees. I love how roomy these are, plus they’re great for layering.

We’re gearing up for our baby showers in Memphis and Houston in the next few weeks and I’m SO excited to see so many old friends & share this special experience with them. If you all have any recommendations of MUST HAVE registry items, I’d LOVE to hear them!

Thank you all so much for following along and sharing in this special time with me!
