After a whirlwind weekend in Memphis, I’m back in Houston and still on a high due to the fact that everyone finally knows we’re having a little girl! Wow was that a hard secret to keep! I’m planning on doing a big post later this week all about my thoughts on being a “girl mom” so stay tuned!!
In the meantime, I’m sharing why cowboy boots are, and always will be, my favorite shoe! (And why everyone needs their own pair!)
This pair of Lucchese’s from Cavender’s are my all time favorite pair shoes in my closet! They are such a great neutral color and guess what: they’re never going to go out of style!
From blue jeans to shorts and sundresses, cowboy boots go with pretty much anything & everything.
Plus you can dress them up or down. I wore a pair on my wedding day, with the fanciest dress I’ll probably ever wear. That same pair of boots has also been dressed down for music festivals, rodeos, backyard BBQs and more.
You don’t have to be from Tennessee or Texas to rock a pair of cowboy boots either! For the most part, I wear my cowboy boots whenever I travel. (They’re great for the plane!) Funnily enough, it’s in other cities and states (neither TN or TX) that I’ll receive the most compliments on them.
During the dog days of hot Houston summers, I love pairing my boots with sundresses.
Speaking of sundresses, I’m fangirling over everything by KAS New York lately and this blue and white stunner is tooooo cute! Especially with boots! ;-P
And it’s super roomy for my growing girl!

In other news, I am officially in my second trimester and I feel like a NEW woman!! My energy is back baby and I am so grateful! I could only veg out on the couch for so long and be mentally okay with doing so. Ha! 😛 With more energy will come more fun content on Lone Star Looking Glass! This week I’m planning on sharing a White Linen Night Preview, a recipe for BBQ Chicken Tacos and a 14 week Bumpdate! Stay tuned!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
