Brand Spotlight: J. Marie Collection

It’s been a minute or two since I’ve popped a post up over here.

“Hi, hello, I’m back!”

Motherhood (and life in general) has felt so blissfully full lately that whenever I carve out time to devote to Lone Star Looking Glass, its mostly content produced and shared favor of my social channels. As opposed to the blog space that started it all.

The way we all devour content has changed drastically since I first pressed publish over. It’s a bit bittersweet? Short form on social is easier to share on the fly, especially when my days revolve around my children.

But there is a wonderful permanence to blogs, long form posts and saving stories to be re-shared in easy to find places. I think we all know what it’s like to scroll and scroll … and scroll yours or someone else’s IG feed for that one specific post we forgot to save. Cue a blog’s search bar!! Maybe what’s “old” will be new again and we’ll all start re-gravitating to the comfort of long form blog posts once more.

Either way, I felt a nudge to whip something up and am hoping to keep at it after today too.

Dillards J Marie Merrit Floral Button down Dress

Back in the day, I thrived on sharing my favorite finds with you all in this space. Whether it was travel destinations, baby gadgets, stylish sandals, or fashion houses you may or may not have ever heard of before. Picking up where I left off and highlighting J. Marie Collections today.

I stumbled upon the J. Marie section at my local Dillard’s maybe a year or two ago. And every. single. time. I pop into Dillard’s, I make a bee-line for their little section!

J. Marie’s collection is whimsical and feminine – two adjectives I would used to define my own personal style too. You’ll often see bold colors, embroidery and silhouettes with something special – like the billowy sleeves on my shirt dress.

The brand has family roots in Mexico and draws inspiration from their own Central American adventures, flora + fauna unique to the region as well as vibrant colors and textiles inherent to Mexican culture.

swooning over the intricate embroidery on these pieces

After living in Texas for almost a decade, J. Marie’s pieces seem to always speak to me – reminding me in my own way of sweet memories and a heritage of a place we used to call home.

Their spring + summer collection sparks joy no matter who you are or where you’re from.

xo, alice
