Hi friends!
I’m Alice, the voice behind Lone Star Looking Glass, my little corner of the internet where I share whimsical feminine style, travel adventures, favorite finds, beautiful places and everyday life in Memphis and beyond.
I started blogging in 2013, not long after my husband and I moved from Tennessee to Houston. What began as a creative outlet and a fun way to document life eventually grew into a full-time career … and more than a decade later, I still feel incredibly lucky that I get to tell stories, create beautiful imagery and connect with women here every day!
These days, life is full in the very BEST way. We are raising our children in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, where we live in a historic house that is always giving us a project or two. I’m a University of Tennessee grad, a lifelong lover of flowy dresses, embroidery, cowboy boots, vintage treasures, and anything with a little color or whimsy.
That love of vintage and interiors also led me to co-found Heirloom House, a vintage interiors and gallery space here in Memphis. It’s become another creative outlet for me, one that lets me spend plenty of time hunting for beautiful old things, styling spaces and celebrating pieces with a story.
Travel is also a huge part of what inspires me. I’m happiest discovering a charming hotel, wandering through a new city, finding the best place to shop or eat, or simply planning the next adventure. And when I’m home, I’m usually dreaming up an outfit, rearranging something in the house, hunting for vintage, or reading a historical fiction novel I probably won’t stop talking about.
Lone Star Looking Glass is where all of those things come together: fashion, travel, interiors, motherhood, local Memphis favorites, and the everyday moments in between. I was honored to be named one of Southern Living Magazine’s South’s Best Tastemakers, and my hope is that this space always feels inspiring, approachable, colorful, and fun.
