Blue Ruffled Babydoll Dress

The fun thing about living in a warmer climate, is that you
can get away with wearing dresses (without tights) almost all year long.
Even if the leaves aren’t changing, I still want to dress
appropriate for the season and the time of year.  Because where’s the fun in wearing the same
type of thing all year long?
Which is what brings me to this ruffled baby doll swing dress.

The dark denim & the long sleeves make it perfect for
mid-fall.  The shorter hem looks great
with a pair of booties, all while still keeping me cool in the 70 degree temperatures
of Houston.

One thing I love about this dress is how unique it is! I don’t
think I’ve seen anything like it in stores lately, if at all.  I’ve been doing quite a bit of shopping at
Pixie Market these past few weeks and their fall style is on point!!

{Remember this green ruffled top from Pixie Market? Well it sadly sold out in a
hot minute, so I’ve linked another really similar one that just came in stock,
if you happened to have been a fan.}
Like I said, Pixie Market’s fall style = all sorts of
amazing!

I love the unexpected “chic-ness” (is that a word?) of how
this dress looks paired with these low-heeled black booties. It dresses it
down, while also keeping me comfortable. Plus, with the shorter hem – flats or a
low-heeled shoe look best.
I’m sure once
it gets a bit cooler I’ll add a pair of tights and heels too! I’m thinking a
pair of tights will distract from how much leg is actually showing. … I mean, not that it needs to be distracted from, right? 😉
There are so many different ways you can style a solid dress
like this.

Today is the Friday before Halloween! I feel like when
Halloween falls on a weekend, the Friday before the actual holiday is like a
holiday in itself.  We’re all dressing up
at the office today and celebrating with candy, a pumpkin carving contest &
more!  I’ll be curious to see how
productive everyone is when we’re all dressed up in crazy costumes eating
insane amounts of sugar throughout the day.
Sounds like fun, huh?! J
Wishing you all a safe & Happy Halloween! And enjoy that
extra hour on Sunday, I know I will!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
