Sundresses for Days

Shop the Look:

Spring has officially sprung and Easter Sunday has come and gone. Soon enough, we will all have summer & pool season on our minds.  Not going to lie, I kind of already do!

Which is why today I’m talking about how to get the most out of your favorite summer dresses & bathing suit cover ups, well before summer even begins.

Plus, I’m sharing details on The Bagtique, my new favorite place to find designer handbags for a steal this spring. (Yes, please!)

One of my favorite things about summertime is spending it poolside. Hot summer days spent by the pool tend to turn out to be some of the most carefree days of the entire year.  Maybe it’s because when you’re poolside (or beachside), you’re focused on the sun, the water & that deliciously good book in your lap.
You also find yourself in and out of your cover up, smelling like coconut sunscreen with chlorine/salt water hair without a care in the world.  Or, at least, I do! One of my favorite things about pool days in the summer is when we spend it with friends and we all hit a local bar or restaurant afterward, in our cover ups turned “street clothes.”

This pretty blue and white maxi dress of mine came with me on my recent trip to Mexico and it turned out to be the MOST perfect of bathing suit cover ups. (SALE ALERT: this dress is currently under $30 at SheIn!!) I wore it on our excursion to Cozumel and it transitioned from the sand to the streets effortlessly. (Full Cozumel post coming soon BTW!)

As soon as I got back to Houston while unpacking, I could still smell the yummy coconut scent from my sunbun sun screen, lingering on the dress and reminding me of our perfect day on the beach.
I knew I couldn’t wait until the dog days of summer to bring this embroidered and lace frock out again, so I was determined to find a way to make it appropriate for every day.

Cue the denim jacket.
The back of this dress is cut pretty low, with spaghetti straps definitely NSFW.  I added my denim jacket and suddenly this dress can go anywhere and everywhere! Now I’m like, what other swim cover ups can I dress up for spring!? I’m itching to start wearing them ASAP!

To keep the beachy vibe going, I paired this dress with ribbon tied wedges and the most fun bag imaginable for spring and summer.

This pom pom straw clutch (which also converts to a crossbody) is by Kate Spade! I’ve always loved Kate Spade’s fun handbags, especially the ones that come in bold bright colors. But I’ve found a new obsessed with her clutches. From clutches shaped like literal hot air balloons to striped clutches with a toucan touch, Kate Spade’s spring clutches are definitely conversation pieces.

When I stumbled upon The Bagtique, I was thrilled to see that these quirky clutches (along with a ton of other fabulous designers) were available at such a great price point! This pretty of mine would normally be $250, but it’s only $150 over at The Bagtique. #win!

Do you have any summer dresses or swim cover ups that you can’t wait to wear either!? I love sundress season, so any excuse to start early, I’ll take it!

On another note, hope you all had a happy Easter weekend! We were able to spend ours in Memphis visiting my family. It was so good to see my parents, brothers, grandma and uncle! It’s been ages and so much has happened over the last few months that it was a much-needed trip for sure.  I also got to see so many of my high school friends, eat in a few of my favorite restaurants and hang out at my uncle’s farm for a day. I’ve only been away for a day, but I’m officially ready to go back and do it all over again!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
