I was just talking to Patrick this morning about our recent trip to Maine, and it still feels like a dream! We were treated to colorful fall leaves, cool temperatures and all the flannel we ever wanted to wear. And now we’re back to the warm upper 80s in Houston. & it’s November. What gives!
Today I’m reminiscing on the first stop on our Maine Babymoon, the adorable Pomegranate Inn in Portland.
After binge watching the entire Gilmore Girl’s series (again) the thought of staying in a quaint New England inn was something I could not resist. When planning our trip, I stumbled upon The Pomegranate Inn from Lark Hotels and it was everything I had imagined and more.

For starters, Pomegranate Inn’s first floor is an art lovers paradise. The living room, dining room, sun porch & sitting room all are chock full of funky sculptures, bold paintings, colorful prints & whimsical treasures from the owner’s original collection.

The “grand” staircase takes guests up to their rooms.

Each guest room is completely different from one another, down to the very last detail.
We stayed in room four. With its hand painted wallpaper, high ceilings and colorful prints and textures throughout, I felt like I was on vacation in the world’s largest (and most amazing) dollhouse.

The fireplace was turned on at a touch of a button. (& Patrick literally had to drag me away from it each morning too!)

But being pulled away from the warmth of the fire wasn’t all the bad. As we headed downstairs, the delicious aroma of in-house baked goods awaited us!

(All the heart eye emojis!!!!)

We would load our plates full each morning, trying all of the different treats.

I was in complete and utter heaven, with pancakes, scones, pastries & all of the fruit I could imagine. Basically, all of my pregnancy cravings came together at once and it was pure bliss!

I have to say, one of our favorite parts about our trip to Maine was being able to wear our cozy fall and winter clothing that we seem to never get to pull out down here in Texas. Oversized flannel shirts & Ugg boots for one!
Not pictured, is Patrick in a matching flannel shirt and his Ugg slippers. 😉

When we headed into town for a bit of exploration, I dressed for the day in a white tee with a puffer vest & my J. McLaughlin flannel blanket scarf. Hunter boots were a necessity, of course, as we were in New England after all! (& I simply had to dress the part lol!)

Now if only I could throw on this look today in Houston and be just as comfortable!

We then made our way to the Portland Head Light at Fort William Park for its stunning views and a visit to the lighthouse museum. But more on that magical day in another post later this week!
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog & checking out my latest adventures!
