Tangerine Lace

Don’t you guys love it when you find that go-to color that you somehow know you will always look good when wearing? (My mom’s is mustard yellow!) Lately, mine has been shades of red & tangerine. I’m now always drawn to red or tangerine hued items whenever I shop. Maybe it’s because of the combination of my dark hair and super pale skin? Whatever it is, it works & I can’t stop wanting to wear these shades! Which is interesting, because for about my first 15 years spent picking out my own clothes, I almost always went with blue or white.
Thank goodness I eventually grew out of that, because I simply could not live without this tangerine dress in my life. Now to start trying new colors in the home. Pretty much every room has a blue & white theme going on in our house at the moment. Thank’s wonderful husband for letting me have such a serious say in the decor! 😉 I promise in our next house, I’ll try different colors!
This lovely tangerine dress that I’m styling today is by Yoana Baraschi and consists of a floral birdcage embroidered silk pattern over a tangerine slip. So many of my favorite things combined in that one sentence. Floral. Embroidered. Tangerine. Silk. & yes, birdcage! I especially love how the sheer lace overlay looks with the boat neckline. I really need to find a friend with a yacht, just so I can have the excuse to wear a tangerine boat neckline frock on a yacht.  In my dreams, you guys!
A statement making dress like this doesn’t need much accessorizing, so I’m styling it with a neutral purse & heels, and white tassel earrings that give just enough “oomph” without taking away from the dress itself.
If you haven’t already, be sure to pop one post back and enter my giveaway with Yoana Baraschi! I’m giving one lucky reader a Voodoo Embroidered Racer Dress of her very own. Winner will be announced next Thursday and will get to choose the dress size.
PS: I AM SEEING NEWSIES TONIGHT AND I COULD JUST SCREAM AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS RIGHT NOW ABOUT HOW EXCITED I AM!!!
If you’ve seen Newsies before, then I know you can relate. 😉
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
