I’ve shared a bit of this and that about the summer styling soiree I recently hosted with Anthropologie, but I have yet to talk about the pretty little outfit that I wore!
If you’re hosting any sort of event where you know all eyes are going to be on you, you’re obviously going to want to look your best, right? Whether it be a holiday dinner, birthday party, bridal shower or blogger event, I’ve always got to find that “perfect” outfit where I feel like a million bucks. I’ve come to find that when I feel confident in an outfit, I am more self-assured and overall confident throughout the day/or event when wearing said outfit. Does that make sense? In my opinion dressing well, or dressing in a way that pleases you, can really elevate your overall mood. And who doesn’t want a fun and caffeine-free mood elevator?
For last week’s styling party, I chose this crisp white fluttered poplin top and Anthro’s exclusive WHIT Two high-rise floral skirt. Ya’ll know me, I love anything blue & white and pairing these two pieces with the pop of yellow mixed in was just the look I was going for. I love that this look is dressy & sophisticated while also being somewhat casual. Perfect for a weeknight event.
When shopping for this outfit, I noticed that this skirt was only available in petite in my local store. (There are regular sizes available on-line.) I tried on the petite and realized I actually liked where the length hit better than I probably would have had I tried on the regular size skirt. I thought having the skirt hit at the mid-ankle as opposed to just below it made it extra-special and that much more unique. I’ve hardly seen any skirts hit at this length, so I’m glad I’ve found this one! It’s such a fun & different look. 🙂
I’m still so incredibly thankful for how fabulous the evening turned out and for how many sweet friends & bloggers that stopped by! Can we please re-live it all over again you guys?! I mean, who wouldn’t want to party & shop at Anthropologie on a regular basis, right!?
Also, I can’t wrap this post up without sharing these snaps of me and my mom! (Thanks Lauren for taking these!) My mom and I probably get to see each other only 4-5 times a year. (long visits though) But I’m not going to lie, we talk on the phone like 4 times a day. Does anyone else chat with their mom that much? It certainly helps with the long distance!
I also had to laugh at the outtakes of these photos, because we may not look thaaaaat much alike, but in every single photo we are making 100% the exact same face. On the inside, the two of us are two peas in a pod! And I’m also loving how we were both rocking the florals that evening. So glad she was able to visit!
On another note, it’s Thursday! We are almost to the weekend you guys, we can do it! I’ve got plans to do absolutely nothing this weekend, except for maybe finish the second Outlander book. Has anyone else read those? The TV show has got me addicted! Now to plan a trip to Scotland to see where it was filmed…..#bucketlist!
