I found out I was pregnant way back in early May. (seems like forever ago!) I remember envisioning myself with this big ol’ baby bump in November & December, and thinking how it will be so fun to wear oversized sweaters, tops & leggings for the last two months. Well, it’s finally a bit chilly enough in Houston and my bump is just as big, if not bigger, than I had imagined it to be!
Hunting down the cutest of cute maternity outfits has been such a fun challenge. It’s easy to just run to Target or another major retailer for some standard maternity gear. But did you know that there are SO many amazing maternity style boutiques out there, that offer clothing just as cute as what you wore pre-pregnancy? One of my recent favorites is Audrey & Olive. Their mantra is “pregnancy shouldn’t mean having to compromise on style.” – and I totally agree!
See how I styled two oh-so-cozy pieces from Audrey & Olive in today’s post!
Shop the Look:
fluffy sweater c/o || gray top c/o || leggings || swedish hasbeens booties || snakeskin crossbody || black hat
You can’t go wrong with a super soft oversized tee topped with a fluffy mustard sweater, now can you!? These two pieces from Audrey & Olive are definitely bump friendly and also come in a silhouette that would totally work once the baby is here. Paired with my stretchy leggings, my favorite hat, and Swedish Hasbeens booties I’m ready for whatever the day will bring! (As long as cold weather comes with it!)
When it comes to dressing the bump in this special time of life, it’s so easy to think: empire waist tops, ruched tees and wrapped dresses. Because that’s what most people wear when they’re pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, those are great! But with this season’s “oversized” trend, there are so many non-maternity tops & dresses that look fabulous with a baby bump. Plus, you’ll love the pieces so much that you’ll want to wear them afterward too! Audrey & Olive has done the work for us momma-to-bes, and rounded up an assortment of non-maternity pieces that work at any stage in pregnancy. (This plaid top, for instance, how cute and cozy!?)
In other news, can you guys believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week? I can not. But I am thinking I’ll most definitely be wearing the outfit above on Turkey Day!
And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
