Working from home full-time and hanging with Annie has certainly isolated me a bit more than my verrrry social full-time jobs did last year! Walking with co-workers across our office to grab coffee while chit-chatting along the way were some of my favorite parts of my day. Now, to get that social interaction during the workweek I meet other bloggers and their babies for breakfast or brunch as often as I can. Wrangling a little one, I want to be cute & comfy at the same time. I love pairing sundresses with casual sandals for a laid back but also dressed up vibe.
Today I’m teaming up with Famous Footwear to share how I styled their Hagan Ghillie Lace Ups for a mid-week brunch date. I’m also chatting about my favorite spots to grab a cup of coffee or a quick bite with friends in Houston.
While this pretty floral Paper Crown dress would look just gorgeous on its own (especially for a wedding) I dressed it down for a mid-week brunch date with a denim vest and strappy sandals. These Circus by Sam Edelman Lace Up Sandals are for summer because they go with just about everything.(They’re less than $40 too!) I’ve recently paired them with shorts + tees for park dates & and even leggings & tanks for running errands around town.

Like I said up top, I make a point to meet friends for lunch or grab coffee at least 2-3 times during the work week just to get out of the house, chat with other “grown ups” & soak in a relaxing pretty atmosphere to help recharge my creative juices. Later today, I’m meeting some girls for lunch with a zoo date to follow! Should be fun! I want to quickly share a few of my go-to spots in Houston for coffee or lunch dates. And you know me, they’re all super cute & “instagram-worthy” too. 😉
Tiny’s No. 5
This adorable oasis tucked away in West U has the most delicious brunch menu, foaming lattes & a gorgeous patio to boot. It’s a regular spot for me & my girlfriends… mainly because their chocolate chip cookies are irresistible!
Bebidas
It’s a cute little coffee shop on the quieter side of Westheimer in River Oaks. The Southwestern flare is too much fun, with cacti spilling out of the center of their tables too. The lattes & smoothies are delicious, as is the avocado toast! The pink interior is precious, but if the weather’s nice their patio can’t be beat!
Torchy’s Tacos
A deliciously divine taco chain scattered throughout Houston (& Texas.) I love sitting on the picnic tables at The Heights location and people watching while I munch on their queso. (PS: Have yall seen my Torchy’ copycat queso recipe!?!) They have a rotating taco of the month with flavor combinations that never ceases to amaze me!
Common Bond Cafe
My mouth is watering just thinking about Common Bond’s pastries & colorful macarons! This marble-clad bakery & coffee shop is in Montrose and makes a great little meeting spot. It’s a bit cramped, so those with kiddos be sure to leave your stroller in the car. Don’t leave without snapping a photo of your cappuccino on their pretty white tables!
Bistro Menil
This quiet lunch spot sits just across the street from The Menil art gallery. Natural light fills the interior while the patio outside has a great view, it’s hard to choose where you want to sit! I love coming here for their tasty salads & sandwiches. The best part? A visit to The Menil is always sure to follow.
Wherever I’m off to in Houston, whether it be coffee, lunch or the grocery store, I love getting dressed up for the day in something but chic and comfortable. These strappy sandals from Famous Footwear are great for being on my feet all day long & look oh-so-cute too! Be sure to follow along on Instagram + Stories, because I’m sure I’ll be sharing my adventures later today. And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
