Cactus Cool Weekend Style

The Monday morning after a weekend getaway is either rough or refreshing. Right now, I’m finding that it’s a little bit of both! Coffee certainly helps, that’s for sure. Our Hill Country getaway was beyond amazing and I’m already planning a trip back. (Well, I’m daydreaming about planning one, so that counts for something!) No matter the Monday morning hangover from an above average weekend, mini-getaways are good for the soul.

Today I’m sharing my take on casual weekend style, why everyone in the world seems to be obsessed with cactus prints lately and sharing details on a pair of affordable denim shorts that fall at just the right length.

First things first, this outfit. I stumbled upon this cactus print button down at Anthropologie not too longer ago and fell in love immediately. Why oh why are cactuses so trendy these days?! I don’t have the answer, but I’ve hopped on the bandwagon and am just in love with them as everyone else seems to be. (I mean how cute is this dress, this bag, and this top!?!) I sized up in my cactus button down for a looser fit and to be able to tie it at the waist without it riding too high up. It’s such a perfect top for breastfeeding (as is any button down) and it’s lightweight enough for hot hot Houston!

Since it already feels like summer down here, I’ve brought out my favorite Levi shorts for the season. They come in at such a great price point & I love that they are a tad bit longer than … let’s say, daisy dukes. (Which still seem to be popular these days?!) It’s actually kind of hard to find a pair of shorts at a good length I’ve realized. But anyway, I pulled this look together with a Fossil crossbody (this one makes a great Mother’s Day gift!) and matching Swedish Hasbeen sandals. Let’s just call this outfit my weekend uniform, shall we!?
