Dishing On What Goes in My Diaper Bag for Adventures Both Near & Far

This post is sponsored by ALDI. As always, all opinions are my own.

One question I get asked frequently is how I am able to travel so much with Annie. By nature, I’m a laid back go with the flow adventurer type of person. So it seems second nature to take my tot along for the ride. But I will say, a whole lot of preparation and advanced planning is totally key to making each and every adventure that much more enjoyable.

Today I’m so excited to be teaming up with ALDI to share what goes in my diaper bag for both everyday outings and when we’re traveling too. With the Little Journey line, exclusive to ALDI, it makes it easy and affordable to stock up on diaper bag necessities. And let’s be honest, it certainly feels like we go through diapers and snacks like crazy over here so getting a great deal on those essentials is all the sweeter. More below!

ALDI Little Journey children's snacks and food pouches

My Diaper Bag Essentials:

Snacks, snacks & more snacks!

My hungry tot is growing like a weed and it seems like she’s constantly hungry. Snacks also help when I’m out and about and become somewhat desperate for Annie’s frown to turn upside down. I will never not go through airport security without something for her to snack on during those long lines! We love the Little Journey Little Munchers & Yogurt Bites. They are easy snacks to grab & go and my little gal loves them!

We also love the organic fruit & veggie puree pouches. We go through SO many of these y’all! The Little Journey Food Pouches come in varieties such as Carrot Zucchini Broccoli, Apple Mango, Butternut Squash & more. They also have clear packaging so you can see the freshness of the food at purchase! With my picky eater, sometimes these pouches are the only way I can guarantee she gets her veggie fix each & every day.

Diapers. Duh!

The Little Journey Diapers are also new and improved and considering how many diapers I buy a week, this brand can save you so much money. I tend to stuff diapers in every little nook and cranny of my diaper bag. That way if I’m ever running low I almost will always find a spare wedged in there somewhere. We also always travel with more diapers than we need, sometimes an entire box full. This way we don’t have to run to the store to find diapers when we’re out on the road.

Wipes, Of course.

I use the Little Journey baby wipes for just about everything. From the obvious to cleaning dirty hands after a visit to the ice cream shop to wiping restaurant high chairs down before we feast.  Since the day Annie was born, I’ve never left the home without a box of wipes and I don’t plan to do so anytime soon!

Diaper Trash Bags

Sometimes I’ll save leftover grocery bags and wad them up and stuff them in the pockets of my diaper bag. If we’re out and about and I’m not able to find a trashcan right away, it’s nice to have a place to put those dirty diapers that is not straight on the floor of my car or in the bottom of my stroller.

Hair Bands & Bows

Annie’s hair is currently in that in-between stage where it won’t quite tuck behind her ears and it just falls completely in front of her face. I always try to keep it up with a bow or a rubber band. But I also always tend to lose said bows & rubber bands. How do they just disappear so easily!? I have no idea. I now always have an extra stash of bows, clips & rubber bands in our diaper bags just in case.

Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer is my saving grace after a jaunt on the playground or before a snack or meal with no restroom sink in sight. Another thing I never ever leave the house without!

Toys, Games & Books

I try to rotate a few different small toys and books in and out of her diaper bag each week. Sometimes the appearance of a colorful toy pig she has forgotten about can put the biggest smile on her face when moments before she might have been just devastated for no reason other than she didn’t want to sit in the cart at the grocery store. Having emergency toys on standby is key!

A Few Must Haves We Tote Along When Traveling

A cozy cuddly blanket

Bringing Annie’s favorite blanket from home makes naptime in the sky all the sweeter. She loves this pink one, also an ALDI Find, because it has a silky soft trim along its edges. I’ll catch her almost down for a nap with her eyes closed just rubbing the soft silk with her little hands. It’s the sweetest thing!

Dish Soap + Cleaning Kit

We also always bring along a small bottle of dish soap and a travel kit to clean Annie’s sippy cups. I’ll set up a little station next to our hotel room sink and suddenly I feel like I’m right at home!

Baby Laundry Detergent

We all know kids are MESSY. And that doesn’t change just because you’re traveling. I’ve stayed in many hotels that have either a laundry service or washer and dryer that guests can use down the hallway. I like to pack a mini bottle of detergent in a travel container to keep in our suitcase should we need it. I never really realized how much of a “mom” I was until I shrieked with joy finding that our hotel room on a recent trip came with a washer & dryer. It gave me “all the feels” y’all!

ALDI also carries its very own Little Journey Baby Laundry Detergent. It makes Annie’s clothes smell just as sweet as she is. I’ll probably still be using up until her teenage years because it smells so good!

Headed on our next adventure, all packed and ready to go! Annie’s like, “Mom, put me down I can walk on my own!” Y’all, she is just growing up WAY too fast!!

Outfit Details:

Annie’s kitty two-piece set // my button down // comfy high waisted jeans // diaper bag

So I let her down and she turned that smile upside down. Typical toddler to go from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds! Oh, it’s so much fun!! Also, can’t you tell how obsessed she is with that blanket? This picture of her literally makes my heart melt.

What do you all bring along in your diaper bag on everyday outings and bigger adventures? We’re headed to New Mexico next week and I’m already shopping in advance for all of the snacks, diapers, and wipes we’ll need when exploring the mountains of Ruidoso. Being 100% prepared makes any activity with a toddler all the more relaxing & fun too.

Thank you so much to ALDI for teaming up with me on this post! I had so much fun giving y’all a peek into my diaper bag and sharing a bit more of my home life & what goes on behind the blog with y’all. All opinions are always my own and thank you so much for supporting the brands that make Lone Star Looking Glass possible.
