A Pretty Plaid Midi Dress

English Factory Plaid Midi Dress paired with ranch road presidio cowboy boots

While I don’t necessarily love the act of packing my suitcase for a trip, planning the outfits (in my head) for our upcoming adventures is half the fun of traveling to me. The feeling of being someplace “new” amongst people who don’t know us from Adam gives me such a thrill. It’s safe to say my fashion choices are a bit more liberated and I feel freer with my personal style when I’m out and about adventuring.

Last month, we spent a weekend in Ruidoso, New Mexico – a charming mountain town just a few hours drive from Lubbock. We’ve visited Ruidoso for the first time a few years ago and fell absolutely in love. (See my travel guide on Ruidoso here!) I channeled my inner “Mountain Girl Chic” packed along the perfect plaid dress, cowboy boots, chunky sweaters, cozy cardigans, hiking boots and more for our three-day-getaway.

Before I get into my Ruidoso Recap (coming to a blog post soon) I wanted to quickly share this pretty plaid dress with y’all!

Pretty in Plaid

The flowy tiered midi silhouette is on-trend and comfortable too. I adore long loose-fitting frocks like this one because they make scooping up the kiddos, assembling strollers and chasing after children all the more easier.

This dress is by English Factory and currently on sale here for 30% off too! Wouldn’t it make the perfect Thanksgiving Dinner dress!?

Bring Out the Boots

I can’t resist the juxtaposition of a feminine flowy dress with a pair of cowboy boots. My Presidio Boots in cognac from Ranch Road boast teeny-tiny star details and the scalloped shaft is a playful twist on a traditional boot. I’ve had fun pairing these beauties with midi dresses & boyfriend jeans this season. They are handmade in Spain and come in white, wine and black too!

Do you tend to take more style risks whenever you travel someplace new!?

And as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
