Everyone has a weakness when it comes to fashion, right? For some, it might be colorful bright heels, timeless pieces of jewelry, the latest designer sandals or even funky handbags. My fashion kryptonite just so happens to be anything embroidery.
And when I saw this embroidered top for sale as a swim coverup, I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist it, and that wearing it to just the pool wouldn’t cut it.
So today I’m talking about how easy it is to take those pretty-as-can-be swim cover ups off the beach for everyday wear.
The answer? It’s as simple as adding a cami underneath and pairing it with jeans!
But what drew me to this swim cover up (aka beautiful flowy top) inititaly, was the lovely blue & white embroidery. Apparently embroidered clothing is some sort of obsession of mine that my friends are even aware of!
Recently a good friend of mine texted me a picture of this embroidered top saying in her caption, “This is so you.” Um, yes, yes it was so “me” that I hastily ordered it within minutes of receiving that text message.
If you had to guess, what shop would sell a swim cover up so crazy cute that you’d want to wear it all day everyday?! Anthropologie of course! The “Meadowbrook Blouse” does, in fact, fall under the swim cover up category, most likely because the fabric is lightweight & super sheer? Like I mentioned above, just layer a tank underneath and you should be good to go!
On the plus side, the fact that it is listed as a swim cover up makes its price point quite nice compared to your typical Anthropologie top! (Only $88!)
Along with the tank top underneath, I styled this boho embroidered top with distressed legging-jeans, comfortable (yet oh-so-stylish) leather sandals, and a brown monogrammed crossbody bag from Fossil.
We all know Fossil for their watches, but their well made & super chic purses should be just as notable! This sturdy leather bag has become my weekend go to. It’s perfect for running errands, going to baseball games & fits right inside the basket attached to my bike. Plus it matches basically my entire wardrobe. #win!
Have you ever gone out on a limb and bought something that wasn’t technically meant to be worn the way you intended to wear it? Those kinds of risks are sometimes my favorite! Even though, I’d hardly call this one a risk. Yet it does feel a bit rebellious wearing a swim cover up out on the town like it’s a regular top! 😉 I only kid.
Wishing you all a great start to your week, and as always, thanks for stopping by the blog!
